Yeah, it's the same reason enormous NFL linemen sometimes get pancaked by guys smaller than them. It's all in the form.

Maybe that marine is exceptional (I mean, to be a female marine you have to be, but it's worth keeping in mind that almost all men are stronger than almost all women. Comparing bench press. According to these standards, for women, a 185 pound bench press at a bodyweight of 165 is considered 'elite' as in, two standard deviations from the norm. That means 2.5% of women can bench that. I'm a regular dude and that's my 1RM. Nothing spectacular by any means.

I just read this. It was long as fuck. I think Ezra Emmett is trying to masquerade as a legitimate journalist by aiming at the 'long-form' New-Yorker-esque news essay. I don't know what I was expecting from Vox. Real brave of them to not have a comment section too. Anyway, his interactions with these men are fair and normal enough yet he is unwilling to accept that their legitimate arguments have even a shred of legitimacy. He insists on some weird disjunction, casting them as all-or-nothing act…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
