What's your toddler like? The way I use leash while babysitting nephew is just wrap it around his waist so that he can't crawl to any dangerous area. I think you are envisioning age 3+ kids. Leash thing is more for children who have recently started exploring the world and will crawl or walk to any unrecognised place.

If you are alone with child atm and it's not safe to leave the child unsupervised. I know it sounds horrible, but if you live in an apartment on 10th floor you might consider using it for few minutes.

A lot of people here are saying ignore. DON'T! Involve the authorities and carry taser or pepper spray. If you ignore them, their confidence will increase and they will proceed to up their game: accidental touch, deliberate touch, following you etc ultimately leading to something horrible. General advice: do as much internships as possible as long as you are getting certificates and LOR, even if those are unpaid. There's a storm coming that might become something like crash of 29.
