Network with sincere intentions: Go to lunch with colleagues Ask questions about them, listen and show interest Help them. Giving builds bonds regardless if it is helpful advice or helping them move Introduce them to others that can help them in some way (e.g., tell your colleague about that dude in IT who can hook them up) In a nutshell, act like the kind of person who would make a great friend.

It was after my first child was born that I woke up to the fact men do not have equal rights when it comes to their offspring. The nurse brought in the paperwork for the birth certificate to my (then) wife who lay asleep after a long and arduous birth. I told her I'd complete the paperwork. The nurse refused and said only the mother can complete the paperwork for the birth certificate. I, being just the "father," couldn't complete a birth certificate form? I started to see the world differently …
