Sure, usually that’s the case. But I’ve had guys do the lean in when I’m not keen on being kissed by them, and it’s not a great feeling. You have to pull away, maybe your up against a wall (I’ve experienced this) and it’s not fun to have to push someone away. If it’s absolutely clear that the person wants to be kissed, by all means, go for it. I’m not saying that you ALWAYS have to ask. But - if your not sure, even just a little - then asking is a good strategy.

So this post provoked me, cause it’s super generalizing... but I also subjectively agree with the OP. That’s annoying.... I would like the add though, about the attachment thing, that not all women are interested in a relationships. I’m not, but I still want some sort of attachment. At least for that night... no chance that I will go home with the guy I saw hitting on three other girls in the bar/party. Doesn’t matter how cute he is.

Absolutely! I’ve only experienced it once that a guy asked me, before kissing me, and it was so nice!! I told him that on some other occasion and he said that I was sending a little ambiguous signals (I’ve heard this before) and so he thought it best to ask. Of course if the girl (or boy) says no, then it can be awkward. But then again, what’s more awkward; a no, or stepping over someone boundaries?
