He CAN. He just doesn’t WANT to. Gross. How does an adult think this type of entitlement and laziness is okay?

YUP. Never ever follow a man. Make yourself, your mental/physical health, your career, your finances, and wellbeing your priorities always. Being a pick-me will leech you of everything you have. I remember so clearly bawling my eyes out in the parking lot of a grocery store on Christmas Eve. I had just turned down an amazing job back home and moved to be with a NVM who promised me the world. I came home early from work to find him passed out drunk at noon. I woke him up and he demanded that I go…

I’m sure that my most recent ex refer to my as “crazy” for years to come to anyone who will listen. How I’m the bitch who ran away and broke his heart. He’s even been telling mutual friends that he’s still so dumbfounded that I completely changed and left for no reason. Without context, I’m sure it sounds a little wild that I just packed up two suitcases one day and moved 6,000 miles away after 5 years together. But what he leaves out is that he’s a raging alcoholic who physically, emotionally, …

That’s exactly right. A victim of domestic abuse is in the most danger when they’re leaving, left, or if their abuser finds out they’re going to leave. I hope this woman has a strong support system and runs for the hills, never looking back so this monster can’t make good on his threat.

We need to really send the message to young women that these men are not cool. Having an older man pay attention to you in your teens does not mean you’re mature or beyond your years. It means the guy is a piece of trash. It’s called grooming. They’re predators. Plain and simple. I was 16 and the guy was 23. He was my supervisor at work. As I have gotten older I realize how disgusting and depraved it was. Yuck.

I moved to another continent, lost 25 pounds, and started studying a new language. It has been the happiest time of my life. I feel like a new woman. Being able to focus solely on me and my goals has been incredible for my self-esteem and confidence.

Back in the height of my pickmeisha days, my NVM ex “proposed” to me. Spoiler: he actually just wanted more $$$ from the military for BHA and having a dependent (lmao as if I depended on him for anything)... He claimed he couldn’t afford a ring RiGhT nOw and that iT dOeSn’T mAtTeR aNyWaY oUr LoVe Is BiGgEr ThAn JeWeLrY. Then the asshole turns around and buys himself a brand spankin new limited edition XBox. Fuck that guy.

Started talking to a guy through OLD. Started asking questions to get to know each other better. On the second day of conversation I asked a question and he said, “Wow. Enough with the damn questions!” Blocked. Deleted. The old pickme in me would have apologized. Nah. If me getting to know you is so disturbing to you, I’d rather not get to know you. Not worth it.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
