Alright i dont disagree with your intention however i feel as if OP wasnt talking about her like a unicorn at all. So re-read and lemme know what you think. Any chance you misjudged his writing based on your own experiences and knowledge? (Be aware that people will write about their first experiences with people that show more characteristics like this openly)

On an added note. You and I took the post differently. I didn’t see him posting an ultimatum. And i agree that ultimatums are desperate and hold no inherent value. They only work when exerted from a position of power

Fine the term ghosting here is off. Never tell anyone that word as far as im concerned. Just to be clear, im not advocating sending her a text with “im ignoring you and heres why”. Im saying tell her straight up when she inevitably asks/inquires to whats going on

She doesnt know what shes done until she feels consequences (awalt). And on the second part of your post, ofcourse it is for yourself, no one ever stated otherwise. It just also happens that women return because of it often.

Where in the post does OP state this girl to be special?

No it turns into purposeful ignoring with a reason, which imo is much more powerful. So id say OP is right.

He stated the things he learned from this and why he handled it like he did (lack of prior experience) and ended up the better for it. Furthermore you should remove some question marks because you look silly.

Well handled, poor response from family. Had the same happen to me over a year ago. I think the way you acted is the best response possible in this specific situation. However next time youll act quicker

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
