| – | How many of you got divorced over the topic of having (or not having) kids?Similar situation with us. We are both in our early 40’s. I have teenagers from my first marriage, she has no kids. Always wanted to be a mom. We are currently fostering two babies that we’ve had since they were 3 months old; she’d like to foster to adopt, I don’t want to go through that phase of life again. Counseling has helped us see some different perspectives and we have come to realize that we are going to make the decision to make one of us unhappy, or split up. I’m in the camp that you o… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/03/25 05:56 PM |
Those who remarried after divorce…I did this. After my divorce, I dated someone for almost 3 years who I was absolutely crazy about. She was in the “I’ll never get married again” camp, which was fine with me, but we plateaued when we hit the natural stage of either moving in together, or at least living close to each other enough to spend our daily lives together (we lived 45 mins apart and spent 2-3 nights per week together with some weekends away). She wanted the status quo, and I wanted more. The next girl I dated had never b… | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/10/24 08:53 PM
She invited me to her house, how do I escalate ?Go with the flow. Be bold, but not pushy. If you get there and things get awkward, make a move. Hug her when you arrive, put your hand on her knee when you’re sitting on the couch. I had a girl once tell me after-the-fact that the biggest thing that I did that made her think of me sexually was when I touched her waist as I passed by her. | /r/seduction | 17/10/24 09:11 PM
Did anyone here have a relatively painless divorce?Painless divorce. No lawyers, we did the settlement agreement ourselves. I made an offer, she countered, and it was done. It helped that my ex was in a period of feeling independent (part of the reason we got divorced) and well into a new relationship with someone else. She wanted $$ upfront, so I gave it to her and saved my pension. I pay more than I probably should for child support, but she does a good job taking care of the kids when she has them and it won’t last forever. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/09/23 04:14 AM
401k questionYou could have saved $100,000 and she could have racked up $100,000 in credit card debt. You guys get divorced and get to split your $0 in assets because everything accumulated in your marriage is split 50/50 in the end. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/23 01:37 PM
Does this REALLY work?Doesn’t change my advice, and the fact that you’re living in the same house only helps you. I’m in Wisconsin, so things might be a little different…but the courts here bend over backward to give each parent 50/50 when it’s possible. If you can stay in the house post-divorce, it shows that you are capable of providing a safe home for them. If you have to leave, find a place ASAP that is safe and accommodating for them so you can show a judge that you’re perfectly capable of taking care of them. D… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/07/23 04:07 AM
Does this REALLY work?Do you have a safe place for the kids to be with you? I’m guessing yes, based on the GAL’s report. Show up to the hearing with evidence that you have a safe home for them, a proposed parenting plan with 50/50 placement, and there is not much that the judge can do except order a 50/50 placement. Custody and placement are two different things…but you really have nothing to worry about with either if you are a capable parent and can prove this in court. It will be a huge uphill battle for her to ge… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/07/23 03:51 AM
Anyone here feel like they're just never gonna date again?Guys….I’m divorced 2.5 years (separated 4 years). Three kids aged 11-15. No, it’s not fun. And if you want to focus on kids, yourself, that is awesome. I have put myself out there and feel like I’m in college again. There are women out there who are in the same places in life and understand what we are going through. All of them are conscious of being parents. I have been on a ton of dates and in two relationships with great women who are dealing with the same shit we are with exes. If you don’t… | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/06/23 05:05 AM
Amicable Divorce? Here is my amicable divorce. We agreed to get a divorce. Two kids, I was employed while she was not. Went to the state calculator and figured out how much I owed in child support. Added up all our assets and debts and I drained my 401K and refinanced the house to buy her out and give her a paid-off vehicle. She didn’t want the house; I did and could afford the mortgage payment. We did everything without lawyers. We agreed that our kids were the most important consideration, and we would do whate… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/01/21 05:46 AM
A dog that my ex-wife and I had together had to be put down recently. I’m thinking I should help pay for the vet bill. Am I wrong? You’re not wrong in wanting to help out with a dog that was part of your family. If you feel like you should contribute something, contribute what you can. If you and your ex wife have a civil relationship, there is nothing wrong with helping out in a situation like this if you want. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/01/21 05:34 AM
What I’m going throughVery similar to me. I offered her a paid-off vehicle and half of our house, which she took. I paid for it out of my 401K and refinanced the house, but I keep my retirement and the house is mine. I also offered her anything she wanted from the house aside from major appliances; other than her clothes and some furniture, she didn’t really want much. We did our divorce completely on our own (no lawyers) and were civil through the whole thing. Do as much as you can on your own, and get it filed and … | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/01/21 05:29 AM

How to get women to take an active rol when chatting? For every 15 girls I match with on OLD, 1 carries on a conversation which leads to swapping phone numbers and texts. Most of these lead to dates. The ones who give me one word answers or don’t respond at all get unmatched; don’t waste your effort. Sometimes the conversation just flows, and sometimes it doesn’t. Just focus on the ones who do. | /r/seduction | 12/03/20 08:30 PM
Can y'all upvote my post? Everything I post on a dating sub get downvoted immediately and I hardly meet anyone.Ask yourself this....why would somebody want to engage with you based on your post? | /r/seduction | 19/01/20 01:51 AM
Should i cancel or continue? She is just giving herself an out in case things don’t go well. Go on the date, and if you like each other, there will be another one without the hard end time. | /r/seduction | 31/12/19 01:15 PM
Do girls get offended if I get a boner while there on my lap?She never HAS to sit in your lap. If she is sitting on your lap, it’s because she wants to. | /r/seduction | 23/10/19 08:14 PM
Is lightly touching a sign of interest? What’s funny is, in high school (this is 20 years ago), a very pretty female classmate of mine who I did not know well was working on a math problem with me in class. Her breast was solidly resting on my arm for what seemed like half an hour (it was probably 2 or 3 minutes). To this day I still can’t decide if it was intentional or if she truly didn’t realize how she was touching me. Same thing for the random times the woman who cuts my hair presses her thigh against mine...although that might b… | /r/seduction | 18/10/19 01:30 PM
Is lightly touching a sign of interest?Absolutely a sign of interest. You can use this to gauge interest in someone else as well. If you’re in a conversation and you reach over and touch her wrist and she pulls back, winces, whatever, then I would probably drop the idea of going any further right there. If she doesn’t react, or mirrors you and touches you back a minute later, I would keep going. | /r/seduction | 18/10/19 01:26 PM
Delayed replyShe might be worried that texting you back quickly or so soon might come across as desperate or annoying. If she is still responding eventually, asking you questions, etc... then she is still interested. She’d quit talking to you if she wasn’t interested anymore. | /r/seduction | 17/10/19 11:32 AM
