Yes, but the issue behind it being more of a cause than a lifestyle is trying to live that way without society branding you as a failure or a pedophile or something else along those lines. Today they tell you you can't sit next to a child on an airplane; tomorrow your movements are restricted everywhere public. You are assumed a risk to others since you "failed" to ever get married. I feel angry when I watch videos like this and a bit ambiguous after when I realize I am convincing myself to never get into another relationship again. Just how much of the male population goes it alone now? I personally know several other men who despite trying their best have nothing to show for years of dating and others that have abandoned the pursuit of marriage and family and settled on living for themselves. Just a short while ago I changed my plans to get a drink in the break room because a woman was in there alone and I have developed a paranoia of being with any women I work with outside of groups of 3 or more. I don't necessarily think that makes me a victim in a trivial instance such as this but habitual avoidance may limit both mine and my female coworkers abilities to work due to the absence of any office related communication outside of meetings and email.
