Sex can make yeast infections worse because of the friction (yes even with a condom). So if you have a yeast infection you shouldn't have sex. Its by no means the main cause. Diet, stress, weather, clothing, illness, lack of sleep, dehydration, natural body pH etc all have much bigger effects.

This exactly. Gut makes a hugggge difference! And so do periods (woo), any Sex can make it worse because of friction, dehydration, jist being a little sick, heat, non cotten underwear, stress - like. EVERYTHINg

That is true. But it'll also go away very easily. Chronic yeast infections in women arent from "having too much cock" or being unclean or having unprotected sex, which is what a lot of commenters here seem to think.

Cleaning your vagina is a sure-fire way to get a yeast infection. You absolutely should not be cleaning it. Yeast infections are caused by an imbalance of bacteria, they are not from being dirty or from having sex. Anyone can get them , often children or babies get them. There's a lot of misinformation on this thread.

It seems like a lot of people on this thread don't know what a yeast infection is. Its not an STI. Its not from sex. Its not from being unclean. Its an imbalance of bacteria, and anyone can get it, its very common. Children and babies get them.

This is laughably incorrect. Yeast infections are due to an inbalance of bacteria and have nothing to do with cleanliness. In fact, cleaning your vagina is one sure fire way to get them, the vagina is self cleaning, it doesnt need any products down there to disrupt the ph. Sex is painful with yeast infections but they are not an STI, they are not to do with having sex or cleanliness, and its definitely not to do with unprotected sex - children and babies get them.
