This was a post by Dasha Kennedy (@thebrokeblackgirl) a few weeks back. I highly highly recommend following her, she is a true queen and HVW and shares extremely valuable financial information specifically targeted towards women of color.

This absolutely is a movement and it's been bubbling below the surface for a long long time and I believe the pandemic accelerated it. I am very proud to be a part of this movement. I deeply believe that normalizing our core values is good for everyone, men included. What we're doing right here is going to improve things for the women that come after us. Just as the suffragettes and other generations of women before us fought and often didn't get to benefit from much of what they fought for but …

Yup. This is why I'll likely be only working out from my own home. Pandemic showed me it's totally doable. No more creepy stares and comments when runningng outside, at gyms, at yoga classes etc. If I do go, it'll only be to classes/places that are specifically designated as no men allowed. Even went to martial arts classes a few years back and was straight up just dry humped by the instructors and other students whenever I was paired up with men. It was all just a perfect mask for their sexual …

Woooow. Seriously good for you for standing your ground like that. That's how I wish I reacted all of the times I was called rude names and weird comments from my ex's friends and family. I was always way too polite and I wish I wasn't. (And of course said white guys would never ever defend us.) And yeah, I always felt like one of the biggest reasons white guys would date me was so that they could parade me around and show off to his white friends/family what an exotic new toy he had, it would s…

I second this so much. I honestly find white guys beyond gross now, do not know what the heck I used to be drawn to them for. It's probably just American media pushing white guys on everybody. Also, even if the guy himself isn't that bad, there's guaranteed to be some really bad racism from his family and friends. I always felt treated like a circus animal around ex white guys' friends and family.

So, I have this very NVM old friend who's nearing 40, never been in a serious relationship, thinks he's hot shit (it always amazes me how delusional they are). And he's been "on the fence" about kids until recently. Anyways, he was telling me about this writing exercise he did, where you write your own future Wikipedia entry of yourself to help clarify your goals and what you aim to achieve cough narcissistic much? cough And he was telling me how it was when he was writing his own "Wikipedia" en…

Yeah, one of the reasons I was extra alarmed by this. He was able to get her full name and info when he pulled her over. So even if she moved, she's not completely safe from him.

At this point... Are there even any non-narcissist/sociopath/psychopath men out there....? Every single guy I've ever dated at the very least had narcissistic personality disorder just on a base-line level. It's really sad. But I'm done dealing with any more narcs/sociopaths/psychopaths. Even if there are a couple of men who aren't, it's not even worth it searching through that giant decrepit haystack and gambling whether they might eventually show their true colors down the line. Way better off…

Same. I could've written your exact post. And I feel liberated in a way I have never felt before. Nothing is centered around men and being attractive and trying to please people and all of that crap I've been doing my whole life. Everything is centered around me, my needs, my wants, my comfort and security and I don't feel one bit bad about it anymore. It's truly an awakening. I've never felt this light. I have absolutely zero desire to be with a man. This mindset shift is life changing. It's li…

This really needs to be talked about more. I'm really curious to know why this is, the root causes of this. The majority of men I know demonstrate sociopathic or narcissistic tendencies -- and that is just the norm. I remember with my NVX I literally had to explain empathy to him on a daily basis and it blew my mind every time. Maybe we just need to completely stop having empathy for men altogether. Ever since FDS, I feel so liberated emotionally because I'm not babying all of the men around me …

I would bet anything that if all of the high-up CEOs and whatnot of the world were suddenly fired and their female secretaries were give the CEO positions, they wouldn't even skip a beat. And do the job far better than any of the male CEOs ever did. I literally can't think of a single "successful" male I personally know who doesn't have one or several women behind him doing all of the real work and holding things together.

Just played the scenario in my head of this man doing this same thing but to another man. The man wouldn't tolerate it for a second. Would likely ignore the weird man and walk away at the least, and confront him to go away at the most. We all know what would happen if a woman dared stand up for her boundaries like this. She'd be called the usual names, might get spat on, might get physically assaulted or stalked. It's really really sad.

And all the men complaining about how much they "support" their wives and how resentful they are for having to pay for things. Oh fucking please. Cry me a fucking river. Women are the ones who always pull far more weight than men can even wrap their tiny microscopic brains around. Women are the ones who support and allow men to achieve whatever they want, quietly working behind the scenes without men even noticing everything they do. And then these scrotes turn around and berate their women for …

Thank you for posting this. I really needed this! Was in a 6+ year horrible situationship and sometimes I get down on myself for all of the time and life wasted. But it's true. I have learned SO much. I feel like I am literally forged in steel now after everything I've been through. So I am grateful for the knowledge and experience, because I don't think I would've otherwise known everything I do now, and will never be falling into the traps that I did before.

I roll my eyes whenever I hear people praise men who have "good" relationships with their mothers. More often than not, that just tells me that they're likely enmeshed. Of course they should treat their mothers well. But we -- both women and men, have been bombarded by this narrative of "you gotta find a guy who treats his mother well." And I've been there. That just meant that they were already married to their mother and could never be fully committed to anyone else. Good luck having your boyf…

Here are mine: Pay extremely close attention to how the other in-laws of the family are treated. Are they gossipped about? Mocked behind their back? Treated as an outsider? Even how they talk about the ones who left or divorced will be very revealing. This will tell you how you'll likely be treated if you stick around. Pay attention to whether he suddenly treats you differently in front of them. Is he acting more distant? Too embarrassed to hold your hand or be near you while he's around his fam…

Nah, she wanted to sleep with him. I've literally had a MIL who wouldn't let me sleep in the same room as my ex whenever we visited her house, but then go on these vacations just the two of them and always get places with only one bed so they had to sleep in the same bed together. True story. 🥴🤮

Seriously fuck these women so much. They're a huge part of why most of the men of our generation suck so much. Just the thought of ever having to deal with their insanity on top of their sons has reminded me of yet another reason I hope to be single for the rest of my life.

We are living out the results of this mindset being normalized throughout our society. The men of today have been brought up to believe that because they are male they can get away with whatever the heck they want, and with zero accountability because, well, they're just "boys" and society expects them to be terrible so why ever try any harder to be a good human being. And we're witnessing and experiencing first hand just how dangerous and toxic this philosophy has been for everybody. Society is…

The women who came from these experiences and are now on FDS already know these realities. Having it bashed in over and over again by other women on here is just not helpful. It's re-traumatizing. We can continue these conversations from a place of compassion. The way these topics get discussed on here always go down this shaming route of "oh look at me I didn't make this mistake, I'm smart and better." It's just not helpful. All of this shaming of SAHM really hurts and is not helpful. I am one of these women. You can't know someone's full story. You don't know what kind of abuse or coercion might've been behind it. You don't know if they knew better but had become so stuck that they didn't know what to do. You don't know how mentally and emotionally worn down they might've become by the time it was too late to get out. Oh, I'm sure he would've had me pay for the whole thing. Because "you're an independent liberated woman" and "it's for your body" and all that bullshit. I'm still proud of myself to this day that I called him out and blocked him immediately after that. I was so enraged and offended. This was a decade ago and way before FDS, so it makes me proud of the smart and tough 20-something I was.

After we had sex for the first time, he was driving me home and said: "You know, I've never dated someone with smaller than a C cup... Have you ever thought of breast implants? I did a bunch of research, there's non-invasive kinds and stuff, I can send you the info." Even though I was just 21 or 22 or something at the time and he was in his mid 30s (I know I know..), I noped right the fuck out of there.

I wonder how many of us are healing from being raised by Pickmeisha moms and LVM/NVM dads, and all of the patriarchal brainwashing we grew up with too. That is some serious trauma in itself. I for one feel like FDS has helped wake me up from a nightmare I'd been living in for way too long. The healing and re-learning everything is no joke, but I'm so glad I'm here.

Yup. I'm early 30s and the best I've ever looked. Went on OLD to see what's out there and oooof. Shits bad y'all. Every single guy on there was so disgusting that I only lasted a few days before I deleted all the apps. No fucking thank you. I'll be over here enjoying my beautiful life and home and career. I don't have space for a loser to come suck all the energy out of me (cause that's all men seem to do).

It feels like a bit of a turning point watching the coverage of this story. There's finally discussions of the danger of porn, how this isn't a woman's issue, and that major structural changes need to take place. The cynical side of me thinks everyone will have moved on from this story by the weekend though. Because that's what's happened for countless other stories like this and nothing ever changes.

What a typical negative-value piece of shit scote. They love doing this type of thing. Mentally abuse us and then be like "look, she's being crazy!!" Especially after breakups, you'll see their true psychopathic tendencies. He's going to tell you and other people that you're crazy and that you were being unreasonable, when HE was the one who is crazy and a psychopath. That's gaslighting, don't fall for it. As girls, we are taught to: always be polite no matter how uncomfortable you are. Make the other person comfortable, it doesn't matter if you're uncomfortable. Don't be angry. Don't offend people, especially men, especially your elders. Be nice. Smile. This is what is banged into our heads. At least I know women of my generation and older have(I'm in my 30s). We need to work to stop normalizing this. My hope is that younger generations of girls are not brainwashed like we were. I want them to be…

This feels like I could've written it. You are not alone, Queen!! And yes, you've got this! Side-note: get yourself the best lawyer you can find, and one who you feel comfortable with and like you can trust. And DO NOT feel guilty for taking as much as you possibly can (you know you deserve everything). After enduring years of abuse and gaslighting, its going to feel weird to finally be standing up for yourself, but stand your ground. You got this.👑 🎊🥂

Thank you for this. Couldn't agree more. And I'd also add, everybody needs to stop praising men for their totally un-praise-worthy work and "achievements" and well, basically everything. There's a book that just came out called "Mediocre" by Ijeoma Oluo which talks about this every topic and I highly recommend it.

They may not see it now, but they will begin to see everything that you did for them as they get older. And will also begin to see just how much their father let down the entire family and see him for what a NVM he is. I experienced something similar to what your kids did. My parents divorced when I was in high school.
