I feel like the problem isn't the actual going out but that he wants to instead of being more with her, even when they haven't seen each other for a while. Is that really no cause to worry?

Just wondering about this. Is it not logical of a woman to want the unity and security of marriage? They both want to mitigate risks, why is he logical and she emotional?

I always admire when people are so well prepared. Everytime I take on myself to be early with Christmas preparations, I set my sight on bigger and bigger tasks resulting in little time and some very busy last few days anyway :)

I think it's this post included in the RPW Wiki. Women are irrational and inconsistent, they have a capacity for logic but it is not their modus operandi, that is to say that they must exert effort to be logical as it is not their factory setting. A logical woman is easily baited into becoming emotional; women are easy to compromise. Their decisions are based on their current emotional state rather than the abstraction of logic. It's this proclivity to change so quickly which causes them to act …

I just today found out about bacon salt, and now I will be sure to try chili salt as well! Have been lighting the fireplace every night, making tea, taking long showers together with incense and wine. Making sure I have his towel warm and waiting for him when he's done showering in the morning, bringing coffee to him in bed, etc. That sounds like a dream :)

I had an ex that didn't accept my reasons for breaking up because he didn't find them logical. I had to learn that I didn't owe it to people to explain myself, and what a relief this has been :)

Something I've heard is to praise their father's masculine qualities. Talking about him as hero.

If you already have made the choice to try to be friendly with these women despite your differences, just keep silent when it happens and don't let them corrupt you. No one has ever shunned me for having my own opinions, unless I tried to convince them in turn.

What a scary and dramatic event. Verbalizing successes does a whole lotta good in these situations. Well handled :)

Hopefully not by creating dysfunction in the home. I don't advocate putting one's foot down anytime, but most wives do have influence over their husbands. I guess I don't really see why a man would want his children to witness himself being bullied. Though if it's either one or the other, then yes, by all means neccessary protect them from physical danger even if it means going against the husband. Regarding the verbal disputes, trading dysfunction at grandparents with dysfunction at home would …

As to your in-laws, follow his lead. What does he say about this situation? I agree with following his lead, with the limit being exposing their children to this dysfunction.

Children absolutely do not benefit from having a relationship with them if that includes being put in the middle of arguments, and watching their own parents' authorities being undermined :( It is super damaging and what they experience this early in age will stay with them throughout their lives.

From my real life it seems like it is very tempting for men and masculine women to want to toughen up a sensitive woman. It might be frustrating for her if she knows in her heart that is not the right way for her to be, it is not the kind of mindset that makes her compatible with you. She is an emotional being and if you change that in her, you might not like what other changes it can generate in her.

I'm 20. 1) I want marriage, and I wouldn't be with someone who didn't want to marry me. I can't help but feel that men who say it's a bad deal are making excuses, and that if the right woman came along, they would marry. Instead, they are putting the risk on the woman. 2) I want to live together after marriage. I don't think I would want to be living apart because it would feel much less unitary, and like we were separate families. 3) Yes I want children. I already feel something I can only desc…

If you feel that you have too much on your plate, you do have to much on your plate. If you decide to say anything to your boyfriend, consider saying only this: "I wish I wasn't so tired everyday" without expectation and without blame. However, you say you are burdened with classes, schoolwork and studying.. are they not all "only school-related stuff"? What skews the biggest workload to you is domestic housework, which isn't a small job, that is not what I mean, but - I wonder if the way you wo…

I think it's important to keep a mindset that brings out the best in you. For me thinking I was replaceable would be detrimental, I have the most positive energy when feeling important and irreplaceable to a person :) Like most women (I think), I'm motivated the most by rewards and not challenges. I'm also a very brooding sort of person and so I'm always evaluating the relationship and how I'm acting, and maybe the best perspective for people who are less self-conscious is indeed a bit of self-i…

I'm sorry that you got bullied. But I think that a picture with your chest as the main character would look approval seeking.

The notion that she should make things serious as soon as the other party is ready is absurd. It is the most biologically conformist approach there is; women don't love that readily and take longer to form an attachment. When men want to define the relationship that early they are pushing for sex. And that instinctively creates hesitance in women - so many questions we have about dating can be answered just by following our hearts.

Since we're sharing tragicomedy http://nymag.com/thecut/2015/07/what-open-marriage-taught-one-man-about-feminism.html She didn’t present it as an issue of feminism to me, but after much soul-searching about why the idea of my wife having sex with other men bothered me I came to a few conclusions: Monogamy meant I controlled her sexual expression, and, not to get all women’s-studies major about it, patriarchal oppression essentially boils down to a man’s fear that a woman with sexual agency is a …

What do you mean by messing around with other people? If you cheated I'm sorry but he will never see you as something more than temporary. Is there any reason at all you consider him your boyfriend? Whether he is or isn't, forcing contact on him will lead him away from you.
