"Girls are shut out of those activities" Girls show zero interest in playing with legos on their own accord, even when they have colors typically attractive to girls or when there is a specific club for them to encourage it So, at what point exactly were the girls actively oppressed and "shut out" of lego time by the patriarchal 3 year old boys?

Spoken like someone who would never have to actually go through the difficulty of abortion. Good for you for liking a rule based on your unfounded assumption of corruption of the medical community. But that isn't enough to form the basis of law, particularly not during during an unprecedented emergency.

The pandemic would have made it more difficult and risky to go to an extra doctor for sign off, so it's fair to make an emergency exception for easier access to abortion during unprecedented times instead of having people risk their health or livelihood if the logistics of extra sign of risk their ability to access abortion.

Just to understand your point, what is the relevance of abortion law in the general discussion of gendered pandemic responses?

Y'all are fucked. You guys love hating women but if a hot one comes along you all froth at the mouth while ignoring that if the genders were reversed the title would use words like rape and paedophile - even though that sort of inequality is the whole point of this sub.

I hate almost all female comedians but a few that are quite good: -Shappi Khorsandi is great for sharp satire, a lot of her jokes might go over your head but most of her sets are very polished. -Iliza Shelinger is good at making fun of girls in an absurd way, but very one dimensional and repetitive, her later sets also start going into the typical "not like other girls" crap. -Dina Hashem is a small time comedian who goes on those roast battles and jfc she roasts hard. Very deadpan and very brut…

Agreed - sometimes this sub gets pathetic incel vibes. I'm just here for that sweet egalitarian justice porn and it's not here.

Sorry, just to clarify that point - I meant huge rhetoric from a humanitarian/feminist perspectives. It wasn't the main political reason of course, but there was a large feminist rally driving that factor.

I did some college work that touched on this so I dig it out from there.

They do this with international political issues too in whatever way suits them at the time, no matter how contradictory. For example, feminism was used as a huge rhetoric for invading Iraq and Afghanistan - the idea that we need to invade to liberate the women there. Then funny enough the tables have completely turned. For example women in Iran have been protesting against the hijab and being executed and imprisoned for decades in respond, despite the law never being voted and only being implem…
