I can see there being real people that think this way. There's just almost no overlap between those people and people who can afford all the things he's mentioning. Certainly almost no one who earns the money themselves can be so clueless. Even a trust fund kid would have been sent to nice schools where even the worst student leaves with some common sense and socialization.

I thought you only lose the bond if they don't show up for court. Even then, you would just get it back if you can produce them. That's the entire concept of bounty hunters and the reason why there are so many bail bonding services. If you lost the bond when the criminal commits another crime... well it would sure as shit cost more than 10% up front.
