When you type "shared parenting" in Google in Australia, you only find negative articles about how shared parenting in endangering the lives of children. Complete and utter rubbish with not one death or credible abuse claim in Australia ever being recorded as a result of shared care. What you don't find is references to the government's own assessments of the laws, where they interviewed over 26000 parents, which gave it a resounding thumbs up to the laws, or any acknowledgement to the problems …

This is a very interesting article because it shows a completely different approach from the Indians to this issue than say the English. rather than dressing up in super hero costumes a la fathers 4 justice, CRISP has focussed on a relentless media campaign. given the huge resistance to any form of change regarding child custody, it makes me wonder which approach will ultimately be more successful.

Notice how this sexist pig of an attorney general keeps stating that the violence is ONLY about female and child victims, and male perpetrators. His own language is incredibly sexist and another form of abuse against men.

Really well written Sonia. I'd like to think on what else may be added and post later. What comes to mind is the domestic violence industry, and how they seem to suggest that a father seeing his child is somehow a risk to the mother of domestic violence.

I find it incredible to what extent psychology has aligned itself with feminism. It seems that not even science nor facts can get in the way of ideology and this belief that men are inherently born evil, and mothers simply can do no wrong.

This report leaves out an important reason why fathers spend little time with their kids, women's resistance, especially for divorced fathers. Just look at the effort women's groups put into thwarting any legal initiaves for shared parenting after divorce.

I think beautiful women are bad for men's health for many other reasons as well. I think one major failing for men is that we tend to judge women almost solely on their looks, at least on first impressions. We would be better off ignoring looks altogether.

There seems to be a competing petition against shared care in Australia, but most of those signatures are from US, not Australia. Interestingly, this petition has been signed by many high profile Australian politicians.

Look at the pdf. Most abuse done by biological mothers and their boyfriends (not fathers of child). Together they comprise around 75% I think, from the figures. Yes, sexual abuse seems to be mostly men, but non-biological to children. Sexual abuse seems to only be about 3% of all abuse, so although it is a serious thing, it is a small part of the abuse and neglect that occurs to children.
