People keep saying this, but neither the police report nor the police press release indicate 1) that there is any Ring doorbell footage, or 2) that she opened the door. The police do indicate (in their press release, IIRC) that they are reviewing additional footage. For all we know, that could be additional footage that she took.

From a social perspective, that’s true. However, I’d be careful of putting too much stake in the Ring footage. None of us have seen it, yet, so its content is still speculation. From a legal perspective, if Olivia Henderson’s account of what happened is 100% true (aside from the obvious lie of SA, which has more to do with her stupidity than misrepresentation), the man committed no clear crime and she committed several felonies.

Theoretically, her victim should be able to sue for libel, but we all realize that it is 1) prohibitively expensive, 2) probably more damaging to his reputation, and 3) unlikely to have any meaningful outcome from a deadbeat wannabe influencer, who is essentially “judgment-proof”.

She's definitely going to get a plea deal. Unfortunately, it will probably me more akin to a parking ticket than the felony she's currently facing. There's no legal precedent for it, but I think a two-year ban on social media would be the perfect punishment for her. It may even allow her to regain some measure of mental health.

The DD woman did break the law — she took nude video of a man without his consent and posted it on the internet. That is illegal. If you don’t understand this, you should not be on the internet unsupervised. The guy may or may not have staged the incident, but there is no definitive proof that he did. Lacking proof of intent, no crime has been committed under NYS law.
