The real question is would u take get back knowing what she is now ... unlikely. You renember the good times and thsts ok ... itcwas once good but things change. Time is a healer and there will be many down days but renember wasting energy on wanting the old times back or her back is wasting time ... I learnt after 3 years of trying to let go

Noir ... bro I am not good with being alone or loneliness but I see my mum and after she lost my dad she is being strong. My ex decided to move on. She is still alive. I miss the good times but I wouldn't wish her on anyone now as she is not the same person. No sex or love is brutal and easier and better to be alone. At least u can start to be free and find people. I am lazy in meeting people but I have and its ok. At this age we adjust snd i get sad to see others who have a great marriage but t…

So after a long marrisge my wife walked away. Initially my daughter stopped speaking to me since influenced by ex. Over time my kids accepted it. I also accepted it and of course miss the old family memories but not those when there was no live, comms or unit. I am slowly getting better. I sm overweight and not really good looking. Nevertheless we dont need women to complete us more to complement us. Everyone overthinks the loneliness but it is real but loneliness in a dead marriage is worse. Th…

Catter ... 23 years marriage and about to finalise divorce she wanted. I still look at her and fancy her. Muscle memory brings back interest in her. She was part of the family unit but one thing is that we are emotionally invested and thsts why we remember the things we had and goid times we shared. Letting go is really hard in a long marriage but my ex has no problem moving on ... I do feel guys generally find it harder disconnecting

Ucatter3423 ... this was my situation as well. 18 years I ignored the signs but one night it was over. Nothing I said coukd save it. When they decide they decide for both. We tried counselling but it was a formality. All I can say is I am so sorry. I wanted my old life back but she didn't. I became the enemy abd stranger immediately. It was like there was no 18 yrs together. All became a distant memory for her and I became the enemy. I have never heard anyone come back from the walkway wife so j…

Bro I feel ya. I am 52, not very confident with women and in a long marriage. I also find it hard making effort with women as keep remembering what I had. I have nothing in common with this people.. no house, no kids, no holidays. Also everyone has issues and major ones. Everyone is messed up but seem to be looking for mr right. Its all so confusing. Why did they feel it was better being away from us rather than working on it

Omg ... 5 yrs for me and I so miss normality. I miss our family unit. I miss dinners, friends, holidays and yes fighting. This is a normal marriage yet she gave up on us and I had no choice. Loneliness is real. I am not sure who feels the worst but I do see her happy and I am sad. I see my old friehds still with their wife's and I am divorced. I see their kids smiling and I see mine just ok. Why do they do that to their kids? I dont knkw anyone who is really happy after divorce. They say they ar…

This is so true but when we are faced with it, we still beg and want her back even though she checked out yrs ago.... we are angry, sad, fear losing her etc. You are right we want what we had and not her but its gone. I so miss us but she is not her anymore

Oh wow so many truths here. I think as men we all own up things were not perfect and nor were we. Yes we could have done better but they could have also fought for the marriage rather than giving up. How do they suddenly or over time igbore you, hate you, don't even ack the good times you had as a family unit? Want to destroy u and all that you earned even though u did it for them and the kids. Now they are happy to waste it on lawyers emails and fees Destroy the dream of an extended family and …

I have been in limbo for 18 months as drags things out ... she wanted the divorce but is punishing me by delayed and racking up bills. Do what you can to resolve quickly

23 yrs and in final stages. 5 years of not accepting that someone whom u spent your whole life with and did everything for can decide to call it quits and feels happier without you. Lonekiness is tough ... you want your old life back even though it had problems. You want someone to touch you, holiday with you, feel your pain and happiness. Anyways life is never what u planned but you only have 1 so better use it best

Yes I dont get it. They really become a new person. I think they guidance from haters who support them rather than encourage them to fight for the marrisge. They forget the impact on kids but they become the victim. Now I am not saying that her decision is wrong but I can honestly say she didn't try to repair what we had. Honestly i hear it happens all the time but I knkw only 1 other person going through this ... I see many more couples who may struggle but don't give up at this age and accept …

I think most cases I hear is that its not good. Mine promised she would be amicable but became evil and doesnt speak to me and so its painful. Nothing like she was when married.... it was all about getting revenge on me ... all those good times forgotten and just horrible

Look up walk away wife syndrome. She checked out years ago and has been getting ready to exit. Said resentment had been building up and trued to discuss with me but she didn't. Past hurt which I take responsibility for and she gave up and wanted out. 20yrs marriage and all gone. Get a lawyer and prepare

I guess it depends on how to define friendly. We are 2 years in same house. 1 kid with us and 1 gone university. We dont speak, avoid each other and there is always tension. We live separate lives. I find it horrible every day ad even though I know we will be divorced and in diff houses soon, I feel sorry for children seeing how wierd it is. They prob dont even renember the good times we used to have. I look at others and feel envious of what I had. I look at her and feel sadness and anger that …

Wow this resonates my friend. I put her on a pedestal and blamed me for the breakdown. Like u I accept i was emotionally unavailable, angry etc but always there for her and kids. It didbt matter as once the switch is flipped ...

When things are good between you, its like magic. When things turn sour as they have for me, why do we then say we need to love ourselves or we dont need her. If the marruage was perfect, we should be ourselves within marriage and not have to be ourselves by getting divorced

Yes same. Mine keeps saying emotional abuse but I have done nothing of the kind. She has got guidance from 3rd parties and who support her. Its so painful after 20 years of marrisge

I agree. Its just normal people facing tough times. It really helped and continues to help with topics that are not easy to discuss with people you know.

Depending on why u broke up, its the sudden or forced break up of a family, a dream or the memory of a nice future. If it got to the point of breakup, something big was missing already... its tough but everyone says it takes time and patience
