Thanks for your advice! You may be right about us not being right for each other, and you're not the first person to say. I honestly enjoy her company though and I think the feeling is mutual. I liked that she was contributing to the conversation, I just wanted to contribute more myself. The conversation wasn't a struggle for me this date, I enjoyed it. I'm not sure if I shut her down on the feminism thing, I don't remember exactly. Like I said above, I did give my opinion, then I told her that …

I like her company and the conversations went well last night. She seems to find me funny and she sounds original. The problem with our previous (1st) date was the amount of talking from her, and the lack of assertiveness from me. We (well, I) literally sent the waitress away 3-4 times because she wouldn't stop talking to view the menu (and me listening). I couldn't have this happen again or I'd get worn down and she'd have 2 dates where she learns nothing about me. This time she still talked mo…

A homecooked meal at mine is the next plan. I work 5 nights a week so setting it up is always a bit shitty though.

See, this is constructive. The cinema date was more just to have someone to see the movie with. I realized during the date though that if nothing happened or "escalated" then I'd never get a third date, at least not a romantic one. I don't think it's done any damage but it definitely could have.

An interesting opinion on feminism? Two minutes into the date? I am so confused by your advice. She wasn't trying to have a serious conversation. She is a chatterbox who blurts out anything that comes to mind. This was the topic of my previous thread. It's a second date. I'll agree on the cinema as a pretty bad date, at least early on. That was mostly me being selfish though, I wanted to see the movie and haven't been since January.

This is the most cynical thing I've read on this sub. Listening to me drone on about my awesomeness? What are you talking about? Are you talking about THIS thread or the first one? Where did I write that? What am I supposed to take away from your post? I honestly just read it as "you suck, get better" which doesn't seem to fit the spirit of the sub.

That's the plan. That sort of attitude is who I am as a person genuinely, but I am not yet used to being accepted for it. I used to reject people super early and it's a hard habit to break.

The storytelling was for it's own sake. It is quite vulgar and the fact that she found it intriguing made it fun to tell. The thought of meeting up so early didn't cross my mind (I've learned from it). She definitely was showing more interest than I was. My first mental reaction was "What...so soon? Why, what's wrong with her?". I lost some of my attraction. The lack of sleep thing was a mistake. It was my first tinder date and I guess was keen for the experience (I would have been happy with a …

The lack of sleep thing was out of the blue. I laid in bed for 6 hours and didn't nod off. Didn't feel like cancelling the date and wasn't hugely invested in her anyway (barely knew her). What do you think about texting her several hours later asking if she want's a second date? (this is what I did, she said yes to sometime next week)

Yeah she's attractive. We were sitting across from each other in a small crowded café, so I could only touch her properly before and after (hand on waist, kiss on cheek). Reaching across the table was the only option and it didn't feel right to do that, logistically. I think I'm okay with the physical stuff, I just felt a bit stranded having to only talk. I don't talk loud or super confident. I've recently gotten over a lifetime case of social phobia. I sent her a text a few hours later (after a…

Cook her a nice halal meal?

I'm pretty sure this one would just keep talking to me while I prayed.

Sounds right. I think I may be too easy going and avoiding confrontation. By the time it became a problem I was already kind of annoyed and mentally exhausted, and found it too hard to tactfully say anything. Rudeness was all I could summon so I just stayed quiet (and commented on her stuff). I think I know what you mean by "leading the conversation" but could you expand a little?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
