In no way am I saying what he did was rape, and I'm glad that he was vindicated. I like the outcome of the trial, but that still doesn't mean that this was a "false accusation." Miscommunications and alcohol can certainly breed blurred lines. Just because this wasn't rape doesn't mean it was responsible or safe behavior. You take a step forward to put a reassuring hand on my shoulder but I misread your intention so I clock you. You call the cops, I get charged with assault. At court, the defense is made that I had no intention of causing you harm, I was just in a charged state and reacted badly. The jury agrees, and I get acquitted.
