Son, 5 yo Not doing well with divorceMy ex introduced a new "friend" shortly after separation. I'm pretty sure she asked my 4 yr old son to hide this from me because we split time with him 50/50 and when I'd ask him how things went with his mom he'd get nervous and not want to talk about it. I confronted her and told her I didn't care if she had someone else already but that asking a 4 yr old to keep secrets like that is too heavy a burden for him. I pleaded for her to please be honest. She stuck to her word and said no there's no … | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/10/24 05:17 PM
Son, 5 yo Not doing well with divorceI had to bite the bullet and tell my 4-year-old son the truth. Your mom wanted me out and that's why you only see me half of the time. My relationship with my son became the most important priority when she uttered the words I want a divorce. If I have to tell the truth so that he doesn't resent me then so be it. This was not what I wanted son, but I'm here for you as much as I'm able. She called and asked if I spoke to him about this because he brought it up to her and I gave her a resounding Y… | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/10/24 09:50 PM
I don’t know why I did it. I just did.I hear ya but I don't think I could hold a new partner to that. Would feel like I'm controlling and punishing them for my exes shortcomings. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/09/24 09:43 PM
| -1 | DisrespectThat's madness. How'd she manage to freeze your accounts??? That's crazy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/09/24 09:45 PM |
DisrespectIt's the worse. The thought that had you treated her like shit she'd love and respect you more. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/09/24 09:44 PM

I'm really struggling.Honestly, I poured everything out to my mom and it tore her up to see me broken. I just needed to open up to someone. She reminded me of who I was and how I was like before that relationship. That helped me tremendously. I still have bad days but little by little they're more far in between. Having my son 50% of the time makes it better as well. I want him to grow up and be proud of his father and not pity him. I don't want pity from anyone anymore. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/24 07:12 PM
I'm really struggling.Stay strong man. Remember even after all you've supported her she called it quits, not you. You've still got a full life ahead of you and your kids need Daddy. My story is similar to you and trust me it gets better. I'd lawyer up as soon as you're able to. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/08/24 05:13 PM
People don’t understand the pressureI'm in a similar boat. Final hearing is a couple weeks away and I'm ready for it to be over. Part of me feels like a failure of a husband but family and friends say they recognized how controlling she was and how appeasing I seemed to be to her. I did love her I still love her I have thoughts in my mind like man I should've been more man enough to tame her fiery attitude but in the relationship my thought to make it work was always happy wife happy life. I have to start looking forward but it's … | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/08/24 04:22 PM
