I have only minor quibbles with most of those points. I was trying to focus on the volume and rate of change post 9/11, which I believe is a bigger factor in discussing how people reasonably feel. Let's be careful about the hyperbole. People are not gunning down and beating random men because we share ethnicity or gender with well known attackers. We decry this kind of hyperbole when it gets used against us.
