Thanks a ton for your insight, Keith! Sounds like me when I was younger.

Just curious, but why would validation from women specifically be more rewarding than the same from other men? Is it just due to social expectations and how you were raised? I agree completely with your concept of finding deep reward from new PRs and other passions over finding it from other people.

You should have posted this on an actual fitness reddit, not TRP.

You could have let us know way earlier in this ridiculously long post that this was an advertisement for your coaching service.

This is some cringy, insecure macho bullshit here. Coming from a poor family on acreage with a lot of animals, it was my job to "put down" pets as they needed. If you consider a family dog as family, then exploding their skull w a .30 caliber rifle at close range, just so that you can be the "last voice that they hear" is some Rambo wannabe, neck beard wearing a survival-knife in Wal-mart type ghetto shit. Why are there so many loser Incels confidently giving advice in this forum?

Nothing from this specific post, but overall, sharing thoughts, ideas and feelings with each other is the purpose of Reddit. We may not be interested in all subjects or posts. It's our prerogative to filter for what we're into.

It'd take a lot more than watching some you tube videos to be able to pull off BJJ techniques against one scrappy opponent. Even at higher belts, grappling wouldn't be effective against multiple opponents. Source: purple belt in BJJ, Muay Thai and boxing experience with 8 amateur MMA matches.

This! Too many "men" on here are so worried about how their LTR will view them as weak, but that insecurity screams weakness.

This is some silly and useless advice right here. Someone has been watching too many gladiator movies. I hope you're not a parent.

This is good advice. There are too many insecure pretenders on here advising OP & readers to conceal true human reaction to grief. How is this confidence? It's mostly insecure men, who are afraid of how other people might perceive them as weak, instead of having the courage to be forthright and genuine. These men who pretend to be something that they're not are the ones who try to challenge me and act jealous in my presence.

That's true about poverty- it's a culture more than a financial state. Not an excuse, but it does usually pass from one generation to the next. Read a lot about it in Sociology classes. He could also be mentally ill. Not your responsibility any more than you decide you care to help. Boundaries are good too.

I don't think you completely understand the definition of passive aggressive. More uncomfortably honest in a society dominated by fickle pretenders. This is one reason men won't find their potential. Truth is not negotiable.

I just gave up games- but partly because I can have an addictive personality anyway. It's why I don't watch TV. I needed something pretty intense to stimulate me, so I ended up taking Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for a productive outlet. Training and competition provided the Dopamine I craved. I did some other things too, like skydiving, but it became too expensive at the time. Whatever your "jits" happens to be- finding something that you can feel passionate about will help with gaming or other cravings…

I gave up games a long time ago for the same exact reason, and can relate to your concerns. Porn, alcohol, drugs, gambling, buying things- can all be unhealthy sources of "feel good" endorphins when taken to excess. Exercise, stretching, sports, learning new skills, accomplishing goals can all trigger the brain to release Dopamine. Eating good food (can be healthy food, too). For some, socializing does this too. Sex, too.

You don't really want an answer to your question, or you would have read his other posts or researched it online already. Damn, I hate when anti-intellectuals start arguing without really wanting facts.

You bet! Indoor cycling, sparring (jits/ boxing) are my preferred HIIT cardio. If I were any good at soccer or basketball, that'd count too.

I guess that makes sense. Looking someone in the eye and being ruthlessly honest when nobody else will (supervisor, bully, authority figure) and watching them lose their shit can be a rush also. It makes things worse when the adrenaline hits my brain and I laugh maniacally while they glare.
