The wife and I have been watching House. The lead guy doesn't give a shit about anything but the truth. He's rude and a complete asshole, never gives praise and yet everyone thinks he's a rockstar. There's only a couple of females on the show and both would jump his bones in seconds if he asked, instead he hires pros to service him.

There are alot of causes of jealousy, not just a cheating ex. She may be anything from terribly insecure to a serial cheater herself. Or, like one of my old girlfriends, both.

Wow. I can't even. She's treating you like you're her little bitch. You absolutely need to be gone more. She needs to see what things are like with you gone. Develop hobbies, work more, gym more, find friends. She needs to see you pulling away in a big big way after that backhand. Up your value in all the ways you'll see talked about here but I'd be gone so much she barely sees it.

"I'll be home at X" isn't beta it's just reasonable logistics when you're living with someone, raising kids, etc.

Now, note that I'm probably only on dread level 1 or 2, and have only really been actually performing MRP kung-fu for a few weeks. Ummm, like what? Are you passing tests? Are you visibly improving in multiple areas of your life? Are you taking control of the things you're supposed to own? And do you think she believes things have changed in a few weeks from the years of BP she's seen? You dug yourself a huge hole. It sounds like maybe you've stopped digging but you sure have not risen out of it …

Diabetes is only one of the possible choices on the carb menu: cancer, poly cystic ovary syndrome, heart disease, tooth decay, fatty liver disease, possibly even Alzheimer's and miscarriages are some of the other outcomes.

Yes. If you do nothing else learn to stop engaging her when she's hostile or irrational. Conversation's over: hang up or leave.

So many more things. Dread is great and necessary but what about you? You've said you lost some weight but are you looking strong and fit? Emotionally are you keeping control and being a rock of stability and decision? Is she absolutely sure that being along for the ride with you is the best place to be? If you want the sex you have to have the outcome independence that comes from getting all the pieces in place.

The important missing ingredient is why. I've known all those points for years but explaining why they act the way they do let's you see it as a system.

I don't respond to every text or call. I certainly stopped dropping my life to run errands she can easily do. This one is big for me. Every night there's something we need at the grocery or whatever store. Yet she can't be bothered to make a list or plan her day better. Fuck these errands. It's tough to say no and not look petty though.

Thanks for connecting those dots. I have a family member that's a complete ho and I always wondered why her choices in cheating were such obvious losers. She grew up with no dad and she's a marshmallow grabber. Been watching her for 20 years now and that story does not end well.

There will be more like your flirty friend if you keep improving. So it's on you to decide what to do about staying married. I'd use the friend to induce dread in the wife and drop a line here and there about those things you find attractive in the friend to the wife. I'd also keep improving your life though: gym, clothes, job, finances, control. Let the wife know she's too young for the old folks home. Tell her how good you feel working out and on a decent diet. Let her know you're becoming a b…

I agree but what if it's not a temporary problem? What if it's a chronic situation that she goes to bed 2+ hours before you do? It is a definite path to dead bedroom but I have not heard practical RP advice on it.

I love hearing someone else's tales that sound alot like mine. But I'm interested that the making dinners was a bigger deal to her than the account. This seems backwards. Mine didn't blink when I went low-carb 4 years ago and started making my own (she still reminds me of the extra expenses for it though).

Has menopause starting been considered? It might explain the no sex and some depression. If your 20 year old just left there's empty nest too - women like to nurture something. I agree you need to get her off all the pills but I understand how she won't listen to your opinion anymore. Maybe go with her to her primary care Dr. and see if he'll support your position? Or just push exercise and maybe she'll feel good enough to quit on her own. I'm with the other guys on the slut stuff, leave it alon…

Seems like a BS idea, I'd have to see some science. Sperm is such a tiny part of the semen. I have heard that the female absorbs some male hormones from semen though, if those are only present in the sperm portion then there could be an effect.

Always amazing to see them trade down. Did you notice how other women came to her aid and defended her through the cheating and lying portion, even believing obviously BS stories? I noted that when I saw it.

I do not know if my marriage will make it. Right now, it is up to me. I decided to extend my deadline to fix my shit another 12 months before I make any big decisions. But I know, going down this path, may lead to me leaving my wife. You've already made the decisions that matter most: you've taken control of yourself. She may roll with it or she may balk but either way you're in charge of you. I'd guess that if she doesn't work out she would have left eventually anyway -and probably with alot mo…

I think inspiring some jealousy/showing your SMV goes a long way, and let's you enact some of the ballsier moves. Hard to make those happen though.

MRP means you have to do some things slowly and tactfully because there's so much history to overcome. I love these posts, looking forward to real examples of putting RP into actions. Esp when there are years of BP, kids, finances etc flipping it to Hard Mode.

One thing I think of that makes it easier: If you're doing this right you should (slowly) gain more of a life for yourself, you should start to see improvement in how she acts and reacts to you, and you should be setting an example for your son or daughter for how a man should be. All in one set of actions. It really appeals to me how much this can solve. And I really really see what happens to BP, all around me.

The gym! Also take a little bit of manly liberties when she gives you anything positive. A peck on the cheek? Add a little feel or ass grab to it.

It sounds like you're on the right track in alot of ways, and it's helpful to me to see someone else's progress/ideas. I think her being "unsettled" is probably the closest she can get to feeling bad about the date, I think it's a positive. I might say not to expect change in her quickly. It will take time for her to see changes in you and then more time for her feelings about them to shine through her normal (angry) mode.

This doesn't go into why marriages may not work out but it does have some confirmation of circumstances you may have seen. Examples: Men shouldering the burden of household chores leads to lower marital satisfaction and increased risk of divorce. It used to be that a woman would stick with her husband unless he was abusing her or cheating on her. Nowadays, women leave perfectly kind, helpful husbands for reasons that seem mysterious.

Check out r/keto or r/lowcarb. The tl;dr is cut out the sugar, bread, rice and potatoes, bump up the protein and fat.

Agree with what's been said here about the apology. I think quizzing her about what she said was not the way I would have gone, it opens too many doors for more arguing. I think she told you about it as almost an apology for having done it. I might have said something like "I wish you would not cast our marriage in a poor light", and then dismissed the subject. It's declarative and difficult to argue with. And she already agrees or she would not have told you.

As an experiment why not sprinkle some alpha tidbits about Mike in your conversations with her? Like, maybe she doesn't want him after all because he was such a man-whore in college when he was on the lacrosse team, or he's really spending all his time in the gym now anyway, etc. See if her interest in him goes up.

Good advice here, I'll add one that I'm working on: talk to strangers. Anywhere. Standing in line, elevators, on the street. Make random chit chat about anything. Do this for awhile and you won't fear conversation. I've always thought I was the type "you had to get to know ", but the truth is I rarely interacted with people at all.

Have you had any luck telling him this? I find alot of blue pill husbands around me and it can be very hard to convince them off what their wife really wants.

I'd remember that what she wants is a leader, show her you are in charge of everything short of those few creative moments at work. Don't waffle or appear indecisive. Let her see you interacting with other women positively. Get in shape. Do TRP in other words. But give her time to adjust and focus on the positive things that come about from her.

So much of TRP is about dating though, I'm much more interested in the applying it to LTR situations. And your should thank that bitch, at least she opened your eyes. I know 50 year old men who still wonder why she cheated on them when they did everything for her.
