I kid you not, I've even seen them blame female on male violence, abuse, rape, etc. on the patriarchy I once heard someone say that under patriarchy, there's no such thing as a free choice for women. Truly a fascinating mindset. Honestly, I'm not even sure most people who use the word patriarchy can define it. It has evolved from being an academic term to just being a catch-all, ultra-vague buzzword. In that sense, whether it's "real" or not doesn't even matter anymore.

The male loneliness epidemic in my opinion was caused by society's idea that men don't need emotional support, that "real" men just grind through life with their jaw clenched no matter the difficulties and trauma. This definitely plays a role, but how much of a role is unclear. It can't be the only explanation, because those gender expectations have been around in Western society forever and yet the "male loneliness epidemic" is only a recent phenomenon. Almost all the men that felt comfortable …

Your risk for 100 types of cancer and degenerative dieseases goes up 10x with every drink. So if someone has one beer a day for a year, they are now 10365 times more likely to have health problems? You may want to double-check that...

Kinda reminds me of FLINTA*, which is essentially "literally everyone except cis men". I talked to a trans man once who was like "my lived experience is way closer to that of straight and gay men, why am I being grouped with cis women instead?" Some people have this very simplistic, very black and white "the oppressed must unite against the oppressors" mindset that they uncritically apply to everything even if they override many other relevant factors in doing so.

but I have tried many times to sympathise with leftists, and the are all toxic, give me death threats, hate and silence me. They refuse to listen to me and that is why I believe that giving them an inch, will make them kill and destroy us. Bro, where are you meeting these people? Extremists on the Internet represent a really small percentage of people, and they don't represent society at all. Left-wingers are just as human as anybody else, we're not some weird toxic death threat murder cult. You…

Yeah, I agree with that. Social media algorithms just make this worse too - once you watch the first few pieces of rage content, soon you won't even know other content exists at all.

It isn’t even blaming the dude for anything. The first quote says the guy "exploited" and "used" her, and the third quote also says "exploited". I agree with your interpretation of the second quote, but I have a really hard time reading the other two quotes in the same way. The third quote also implies that she didn't have the power to choose who she wanted to date in the past. It's not 100% clear to me how to interpret that, but that doesn't really seem like someone taking accountability. (n.b.…

Bro, trolling only works if it's not obvious. You gotta go back to the drawing board.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/23 07:28 AM

Lol, I don't care about track. Usain Bolt is one of the most famous athletes in the world, though. As an example, YouGov says that he's literally the most popular athlete in the UK (as defined by them), and also that 93% of people in the UK know who he is. That big bank comment is bizarre - TIL spending a few minutes on a Reddit comment means you're a shill for Goldman Sachs.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/23 07:19 AM

Usain Bolt was a known cheater and it got covered up. There have been so many cheaters in track who all posted outlier times, and somehow Bolt is supposed to be clean even though he's even more of an outlier (e.g. of the top 50 fastest 100m times ever recorded, there are 15 Usain Bolt times and 35 times from people caught doping) Bolt's career was nothing out of the ordinary until he suddenly saw a supermassive spike in performance All of Bolt's teammates have tested positive for doping, and the…

This sub is unhinged. I guess this is related to what I was going to reply to you anyway, though. When the other commenter posted this: The contradiction I see is the many women who will date cheaters, abusers, misogynists, womanizers, etc with the “I can fix him” mentality only because they find him physically attractive. It’s basically impossible to “fix” this type of man, but woman after woman will continue to try even after seeing all of his previous partners fail. I agree with your response…

Bro, all she said was that a bad relationship can sometimes be worse than no relationship, and that it's a terrible idea to force a woman to be with a man she's not interested in. And somehow from that, you're attacking her for being a horrible parent, a horrible community member, having poor character, and being an intolerable partner - then calling her a crybaby when she calmly says you made assumptions? Jesus Christ, take your own advice about seeking therapy to spare the rest of us your obvi…

Depends. When the guy offers the drink, is it obvious that he has romantic intentions? If yes, then accepting the drink is inappropriate. If you know you're going to reject him then do it now, don't accept his advances until you get something out of it and then reject him afterwards. It's fair for the guy to feel used. If no, then accepting the drink is fine, the guy has no grounds to complain about anything, and he should appreciate the conversation that was had.

"Struggling to find dates on dating apps" and "Struggling to find dates" are not the same thing, which means your argument can be rejected out of hand without even analyzing those stats.

That demographics survey says 24% of men on this subreddit identify with the black pill. If you think that percentage holds true for all male redditors (or all men, period) then I don't know what to say. I agree that people come here for other reasons (I literally said that in the post), which is why I said "the majority", not "all"; accordingly, the rest of your post is largely just a straw-man of what I said. Anyway, it does not actually matter who is correct here, so I'm not really interested…

No (probably not to any kind of rigorous standard anyway). However, if there was a way to bet money on this proposition, I would do so. Even when we look only at the subset of the human race that regularly uses Reddit, only a vanishingly small percentage care enough about the dynamics of attraction to frequent subs like this. Most guys who are successful with women aren't even thinking about these topics, they're just off browsing /r/funny or whatever. For someone to both a) find this place and …

The men on this sub disproportionately struggle with women and also disproportionately complain about women's attractiveness standards, both of which seem very likely to be correlated with lower than average attractiveness.

this girl might be his only chance ever. The stakes are high and he just can’t laugh it off. This mentality is self-defeating. If you are desperate enough to think like this, you will act in an unattractive fashion, kill your opportunities, and turn this into a self-fulfilling prophecy. (In other words, for most guys, the desperation causes the lack of success, not the other way around.)

No, the other person is right - you guys are just using different definitions of the word confidence. Imagine two guys: Guy A is sexually inexperienced, but doesn't really care: he knows he might fuck up in bed, but he'll be able to laugh about it when it happens and he knows he'll learn and get better over time. Guy B is sexually inexperienced, and does care: he worries about what his partner will think of his inexperience; he worries about how he's going to perform; he worries he'll never be a…

Red pill focuses on the surface level fundamentals that you NEED to get right to build attraction before the woman will expose her emotional depths to you Eh, I guess one of the fundamental differences in our perspectives is that I don't agree with this. I agree that those individual points you listed are valuable - the biggest one being the ability to disagree with her, I think - but I don't think you "need" any of that at all. (I also think it's very weird to categorize a lot of that as red pi…

Around 10 years ago, a woman that I was close with broke down in tears and told me that she loved me, and that it was destroying her that I never showed any vulnerability to her: she wanted more than anything to be there for me, and she could tell that I was going through pain and she wanted to help, but felt powerless to do so. She begged me to open up to her, because I had always been there for her and she desperately wanted to do the same for me. So, after 7+ years of keeping things to myself…

I'm a guy, for the record. I've had experiences both ways when I've opened up emotionally: I've had some women lose interest, and I've had some other women become even more interested. It's a net plus, but it's not a universal plus. (This probably also depends a lot on the definition of "showing your sensitive side", but that's too large a topic to unpack.)

In a broad sense, I think a lot of what you said is correct. I take issue with two specific points, though: Blue pill is the oracle; you're basically greatly reducing your chances of finding someone in exchange for... This is not considering the opportunity cost of chasing a ton of women. If dude X spends 1000 hours trying to play the numbers game and dude Y spends those same 1000 hours working on himself, dude Y is probably going to live a more satisfied life and become more attractive in the p…

For men to get the best relationship they can, they have to play a numbers game that women can't even fathom the scale of. If you're trying to find a quality relationship (not just a relationship), casting an extremely wide net to get your number of potential dates as high as possible is a fool's trap. Just think about other fields where you get rejected frequently and have to put in a lot of work to succeed, like hunting for a job: if someone said the optimal strategy to get the best job they c…

I mean, sure, but you need to audition for parts that you actually want. If you act in a machismo way, you will attract women who want machismo men; if you act in a sensitive way, you will attract women who want sensitive men. (The relative frequency of these groups is not relevant for this.) If you are a sensitive guy but put on a machismo façade, then you'll get auditions for parts you don't want, and you won't get auditions for parts you do want.

I suspect your diagnosis makes your answer a significant outlier, but fair enough. (For a closer parallel, imagine that the 9 women don't fit your plans, but the 1 woman does.)

Let's say there are 10 women. What would you prefer: Scenario A: 9 of the women like you, but you don't like any of them. Scenario B: Only 1 of the women likes you, but you really like her too. Because sure, if you just care about attracting "a" woman - any woman at all, regardless of what she's like - then you'll probably find more success with machismo stuff. However, if you want to make a solid connection with someone and build a happy and healthy relationship, then your overall success rate …

I agree that the inability of large amounts of men to identify and express their own emotions is strongly related to social conditioning, and that this needs to change. However, you seem to be making the (extremely common) mistake of assuming that this is the only factor involved in a man being "emotionally unavailable". This is simply not true. I don't believe in bullshit like "boys don't cry" or "man up". My girlfriend constantly tells me she loves my communication skills, my self-awareness, m…

Your internal attitudes affect how you outwardly portray yourself. And I do know what it is like to feel invisible; that does not change anything I said.

Self-fulfilling prophecy, man. If your internal attitude is "this might be my only chance, I need to act like a dancing monkey since this is all or nothing" then you will come across as desperate/needy/clingy/etc. and women will be turned off. This will make your options shrink, which will cause you to get even more desperate, which will make your options shrink further, etc. However, if your internal attitude is "I have self-respect and I will reject a woman if she's not treating me well", then…

Let me try to give you an explanation that is different from the garbage takes you're getting here. Women consider a variety of things when choosing a romantic partner: even if you're not the best-looking dude, if you bring a bunch of other stuff to the table (great personality, sense of humour, kindness, great at communication, etc. etc.) then you'll still get interest from women. IMO this is great - morons here complain that women are more shallow than men when it comes to choosing a partner, …

You're not getting a normal sample of guys here. Most of the men on this sub are either a) extremely young and still developing their identity while not having a ton of life experience or b) a lost cause. Healthy well-adjusted guys don't waste their time complaining about women on reddit. The guys excitedly replying to you with "so you agree we don't owe you our friendship then? HA!!!" are only here because they feel personally hurt by women, and they are unable to resolve that feeling in any ot…
