You're very welcome. The good news is you've identified the issue. Hope these techniques I was taught can help you in the future. :)

Another thing to remember is that not everyone can do anything they want with their voice. I have a voice like Lane Staley or Chris Cornell but I cannot sing like Phil Collins. I've tried at karaoke and I sound horrilble. Sure , you can get lessons and train your voice but any voice instructor will tell you the more it sounds like your speaking voice when you sing the better. You can be trained to raise and lower your octaves but your voice is what you have. It's better to learn what you have an…

Yes. The first time is always brutal. Everyone feels that way the first time.

Once I got past the initial shock of hearing what I really sounded like and got used to hearing it, my PD taught me something that really helped. He said imagine what you think an on air personality sounds like and imitate that voice when you speak. Kind of like trying to impersonate a famous actor or comedian when you are being silly with your friends. That helped me out tremendously. I was overthinking things at the time and that really helped me focus on the goal instead of examining and dise…

As someone who used to be an on air radio personality and singer in a band it's very important to know what your voice sounds like. Most people hear a different voice than what the rest of the world hears because it's a combination of what you hear through your ears and what you hear in your head. What you need to do is be able to only hear with your ears. One of the best ways I was taught this was to take a pair of headphones and a voice recorder, listen to your absolute favorite song on the he…

I read in here, "Don't put anyone on a pedestal because then all they can do is look down on you." This.

I agree with RandianHero. I was a single guy, 40, slightly overweight, not extremely attractive but I have met someone from that site and we are getting along really well. Don't take anything personally. No responses are a given. I threw out lots and lots of messages. At first they were about a paragraph, asking about their interests, showing that I had taken the time to read their profile and look at the answers to some of their questions. After about 20 of these paragraph openers I eventually …

Stop being a nice guy with the expectation of sex? Seriously, women can see through that stuff. Just be a good guy, respectful to yourself and others without expectations. Saying you've been 'friendzoned' is a douchebag thing to do. It's whining because you aren't getting love/sex for being a good guy. Just be a good guy and stop putting the pussy on a pedestal. I know I'll get down voted to hell for this but I don't care. The day I stopped focusing on that was the day I was free.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
