I 100% with the idea that RP theories are often oversimplified and reductive. The theories are generally correct but RPers don't acknowledge enough that there's a lot of different influences on our behavior and evolutionary strategy is just one, albeit a very powerful one. I don't think we live in "a harsh patriarchal society". I don't see that in the data or my lived experience, in fact I'd say that gynocentric is a better description.

I will say absolutely an experience I had that was telling was when abortion came up and I said "it's not like anyone here's gotten an abortion"- the girls all looked at each other and laughed- Not even a bit of shame.

No you'd be wrong about that.

I've seen more than a few Non RP people deny basic evolutionary truths. I will say that.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/20 12:14 AM
2

So you think that men and women approach LTRs in the same way?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 10:35 PM
5

Do you agree that women and men approach dating differently? For example, that women are a lot more selective?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 10:23 PM

Maybe but I'll say something that implies a RP truth sometimes and, as long as I don't use RP terminology, they usually give an acknowledging smirk.

*Unless you're handsome and/or rich

Yeah pretty much OP seems to be saying "as long as you're handsome and masculine, approaching women shouldn't be a problem"
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 09:13 PM

Just not gonna answer lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 12:40 PM
1

As in, did you throw in a "but it's worse for women" or "you're not entitled to sex"?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 12:37 PM
1

I've been here more than 5 minutes. But, okay, if you say so- lol did you just say that or did you add anything else?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 12:23 PM
1

In all seriousness though, I have never once seen a woman say that and get told that.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 12:16 PM
1

Well, to quote some very wise women, "the internet isn't real life, hun".
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 12:10 PM
2

I mean if somebody does not only go for certain kinds of women, but all kinds and yet gets rejected nonetheless
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 05:01 AM
1

Yes there's a class element to it. White, wealthier men tend not to catcall.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:59 AM
2

But what if all the men were rejecting her?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:57 AM
2

I didn't say that ugly men were super shy. Actually, ugly men tend to either be the most forward or the most withdrawn with very few in between- at least in my experience. It's for the reasons I explained above. So yeah.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:54 AM
3

What I'm saying is that the guys who beat their wives usually show certain signs. IE: they usually have high levels of testosterone- ironically the same trait that makes women attracted to them leads to them being violent.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:52 AM
2

See this is the kind of stuff that women say that shows they have no ability to conceptualize the rejection men regularly face. What does that even mean to "change the women you are going after"? It's not like these ugly men are only going for a certain type of girl. They're just looking for anyone!
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:51 AM
1

Yeah I'm sure they met at the women's march.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:49 AM
2

There was recently a tinder experiment where a girl made a tinder account as a relatively attractive guy and the experience was so demoralizing for her that she reported feeling depressed from it at the end. Even though it wasn't actually her profile.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:47 AM
2

Women understand individual rejection. Not systematic and constant rejection. Not having to subject yourself to rejection in order to have a chance. There's a big difference. And, sure, maybe the most unattractive 10% of women understand it- but that's like 80% of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:44 AM
3

So your argument is that because homeless men aren't withdrawn and depressive therefore it must not be that bad to be an ugly man?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:43 AM
2

Sure but if you get rejected, oh, 99.9% of the time while you start to think that there's a pattern and it's not just because they all happen to not be in the mood for a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:42 AM
2

Women get rejected sometimes. But it's not remotely comparable to what men experience. Are you really going to tell me that you don't see a difference? Is that your argument?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:39 AM
3

That is a facade. You see, unattractive men know that they'll have to face exponentially higher levels of rejection than attractive men and often more cruelly. So they either get so desensitized to it to where they get put on that "jovial" and "confident" facade or they drop out of the dating market all together. If you had to face constant rejection to have any chance at love and you decided that it was worth it, you'd eventually get desensitized as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:37 AM
2

I mean it's not exactly comforting to tell a man "Women get really nervous and hate rejecting men but you're so disgusting that they do it anyways when you approach". Which is kinda how that comes off.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:30 AM
1

I don't think I said that, although I would agree that women's rejection should be as nice as possible. But, even though that would be an improvement, it wouldn't solve the core problem. And that's the point. We're not asking you to solve the problem of constant rejection- we're only asking that you acknowledge it and try to empathize with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:28 AM
2

I don't think women enjoy rejecting men. I'm not talking about women's experience right now. I'm talking about men's. That's the issue here. When men talk about their struggles, women get super defensive. They don't say "I'm sorry you've had to go through that". Instead they say stuff like "you're not entitled to a date with her". That is the issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:26 AM
1

Sure she has no obligation to date him. But you're question asked about how women should respond when men complain about the dating market right? Not how women should reject men? That was my reading of your question.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:23 AM
2

Well yes people make assumptions based on how they've gotten treated in past situations and how they've heard women talk about such men behind their backs. Having sisters was brutal for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:20 AM
1

While the cruelness of some rejections does add to the pain men feel, at the core of it is the constant rejection itself, even if explicitly nice, that causes the pain.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:18 AM
2

I've never seen a woman say that, and say just that, and get a bad reaction. I've also never seen a woman try that approach.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:16 AM
2

The experience of being a man in the dating market is constantly subjecting yourself to the humiliating exercise of presenting yourself to women knowing damn well that the vast majority of them, even if they're nice about it, laugh at the prospect of dating you. And yet you still do it because you know that it's the only way to have a chance at love. It's a numbers game. And that's the experience for above average men- for below average men it's much worse.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:15 AM
1

But what do they think of said men? They might not literally say "Ew" but what are they thinking about the toothless old man?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:13 AM
3

I mean your response kind of proves my point. It's clear what you think of these men and I guarantee it shows in how you interact with them. And here's the thing. If these ugly men want to have any chance of having a partner, they have to constantly subject themselves to this humiliating exercise- and fail almost every time. That's what being a man is. Women cannot relate to that, I'm sorry.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 04:04 AM
2

It's not that women actively hate all ugly men. It's that they hate ugly men who think they have a chance with them. Think about what happens when an unattractive woman approaches an attractive man and tells him he's handsome versus when an unattractive man approaches an attractive woman and tells her she's pretty. That difference in how those interactions would go down is pretty much what we're talking about
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 03:50 AM
2

Individual interactions don't exist in a vacuum. Ugly men have a lifetime of conditioning that tells them what will happen if they try to interact with a woman.

Seriously all we want is a "I'm sorry you've been through that. That really sucks for you and, me being a woman, I can't understand your struggles but I do empathize with you."
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/20 03:36 AM

The thing is dating sucks for men. And not just unattractive men. I mean any man who isn't in the very tip top in terms of looks/status really struggles. The unattractive men never have a chance to begin with. That's not how it is for women. Women have their own struggles. Being objectified or used for sex when they want a relationship and when women in my life talk about them I don't respond by saying "It's because you hate men maybe get a better attitude" or even a softer "Men experience obj…

How about: "I'm sorry you've experienced that and, as a woman myself, I don't know what that is like. I want to though. I want to hear about your experience and how it affected you, if you want to tell me. I'm sorry you've gone through that."

Bingo on the educated women thing

Let me ask could part of this be that people tend to associate unusually high levels of intelligence with autism or asbergers? I remember that the income-IQ correlation ends after about 120 (which is I think about the 90th percentile) so maybe beyond people start to associate extra intelligence with not being NT

I think hypergamy has a lot more to do with it lol
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/20 06:11 AM
10

Look down and it says that. Not all problems have a solution but the best ones I can think of is: 1.) Return to a more monogamous society where people tend to get married earlier and extramarital sex is more discouraged 2.) Or legalize prostitution
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/20 06:07 AM
3

The issue is that women are by nature hypergamous where men by nature are indiscriminate about sex. This creates a different dynamic especially at young ages.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/20 06:01 AM
15

18% of women vs 30% of men report NO sexual activity. A lot of men in the other group report very little sexual activity. Also remember that women are more likely to underreport (and men to overreport) or be voluntarily celibate. Point is that the distribution of sex is more unequal among men than women which is exactly what batsman's principle would predict.

I also want to note that Depp is an extremely attractive/cool man. Would ANYONE be defending him if he wasn't that? Even us? We should ask ourselves that.
/r/MensRights12/06/20 03:46 PM

Let me also make the point that Johnny Depp is an extremely attractive male. This is still the reaction, but at least he has some fangirls defending him. What if instead of Johnny Depp, it was Steve Buscemi? Or any mediocre looking male celebrity?
/r/MensRights12/06/20 03:45 PM

Can you expand on that at all? I consider myself pretty well informed on it- I don't expect you to recite it all but at least gimme a hint where you think I went wrong here.
/r/TheRedPill09/06/20 03:02 PM

Exactly I think that women are more cooperative by nature and are therefore more likely to utilize group evolutionary tactics.
