Yes, I understand. In my country we don't have shows like that but for example when they got a hairdresser on TV who was obviously gay the stereotype kind of sticks. Then national TV started making a point of inviting gay men who were athletes, lawyers, teachers, construction workers etc., and I think that helped.

I don't see why you had to add ' straight'. The vast majority of gay men don't care about women's clothes either.
