Acting this way also helps the rejected person emotionally get over the rejection.

Let me just say, that there are many not-so-helpful replies in this thread. I myself have been wondering about OP's issue, and sure - the best option is to make your intentions clear. But that's easier said than done! The question is how? And when? I can't imagine myself telling a girl "oh, btw, I'm only here for the sex".

Well, truth be told, that's not really true. Some people assume their own standards on other people, and if someone is very far mentally from having one night stands and short term relationships, they might assume that if someone is interested in them, that means a "serious", "romantic" interest.

I try not to be solely focused on online game. I find cold approaches to be really hard. But with more success and more skill that came from real life dates from dating services, cold approaches seem more and more doable. I seem to be learning this ease of talking to other people, and it helps. In the end, I do everything I can to meet up as fast as possible, so then it's just normal game. It's not the best way to go about pickup, but I'd have way less dates if I didn't use online game.

Basically, I'm you. I started with online dating. Here is how it's going: I learned that there really ARE plenty of fish in the sea I was repeatedly rejected and it's a good way to learn how to deal with it. At first, when I was writing the first message, I was kinda stressed and anxious. Now I don't give a fuck. If you choose the right dating site, you will always have plenty of other users to hit up. You will probably also get chances to reject girls which are below your standards. This helps …

We were together for almost 3 years, and finished the relationship mutually, it was absolutely peaceful. They got together a week after the breakup. That was the most fucked up part. But I'm sure they didn't plan it out, and I know she wasn't cheating on me. If you ever decide to go through with this - wait. Just wait. I'd say at least half a year after they break up.

As some who has been through that kind of thing - THIS. Especially the part " Even if you asked him first, and even if he said, "dude, it wouldn't bother me at all, go for it," I was the one who was asked. I said exactly what the quote says. I ended up with depression, absolutely hating both of them. Luckily, after +/- two years I was able to get through it all, and with mutual effort we rebuilt the friendship.

The point is OP quoted that you can't laugh and be afraid at the same time. This is false.

I agree with the first part but... Did you just deny the whole notion of nervous laughter?

Start VERY small. Forbid yourself to even think about doing anything big like asking a stranger out. Then start asking women for the time or directions. First once a week, not more. When you start to feel less incomfortable, do it gradually more often. Look at it this way: what is the worst thing that can happen? You can get anxious, start stalling or shaking, blushing, or make a mistake while talking. Ask yourself - will the notice that? What if the will? She might ignore it, but she also might…

And that is exactly what one of the most basic rules of social psychology tells us: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fundamental_attribution_error . Only here we're talking about sb's reaction to us being fully determined by how that person percieves us. Psychology at work.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
