What we need is connection, which is becoming more difficult to achieve as time passes. You can get a taste of it with sex - if you’re lucky - but it’s only a fleeting treatment for loneliness. Unfortunately I don’t see anything that gives me hope things will get better.

How about this: Can we not just say that the individual women in the photo were rude, patronizing, and a bit cruel? I hope someone had the courage to tell them that, but I suspect no one did.

There's nothing abnormal about your desires at all. You're not less of a "man" or somehow meek because you're craving intimacy rather than a conquest. There's nothing wrong with those "base" urges, either. What's important is how you deal with those urges internally, and express them in action. (I can't stand all that "I'd do so-and-so" talk, even if it's nothing more than dudebros trying to prove they're dudebros; it just comes off to me as them having a serious case of the notgays.)
