I feel like if you purposely go out and hunt for some females it already put too much pressure and probably would turn out awkward. Go with the flow, kinda like a friendship. Usually when I got complimented it was handsome, good looking, attractive, etc etc but there have been time that I got called pretty and gotten laid but it was in a flirtatious manner.
