These men you speak of have both an attractive girlfriend and good friends for the same exact reason. Confidence. As for your actual question, think of an activity you enjoy and go experience it in a social way. You'll already have something you both have in common. Capitalize on the activity and branch off in conversation and possibly even friends. Like sports? Easy. Go play ball somewhere public and meet others. Like reading? Book clubs, libraries. Like games? Go to a tabletop shop, convention…

Like someone else said in the thread, just be yourself. Most questions in this sub can be answered simply by saying be confident and treat people well. If you aren't confident, feign it until you are. The more exposure you get, the happier you'll be and the more you'll wish to improve yourself. Most of the time, I'd say people tend to overthink things, which causes them to fail. Stop trying to play it as a game and just enjoy yourself. Women gravitate toward confidence and fun.

If you hit on one, all of her friends will know. Hit on two...all of their friends will know. Not a good thing.

I think there are two ways to do this. Paraphrasing what IWriteForGroupies said, Accept that you cant control everything. It shouldnt be a big deal if someone doesnt like you. or Love yourself to the point where its enough and that is all you need. To expand on these ideas: If you believe that you represent the best you can be, and someone thinks poorly of your best, they arent really worth caring about. They must earn your respect as much as you must earn theirs. You are equal to every person u…

This person has the right idea. Work on yourself until you are more confident. It's not about worrying what others think. Build yourself up until you have the confidence to not give a shit anymore. It's not an easy answer, but it's the only real one.

Yep. Make it a habit to introduce yourself to people you sit next to or will more than likely see again...both guys and girls. You'll meet new friends, flings and/or something more serious. You will also gain much more confidence after making this a habit. How? "Hi.. I'm x. Nice to meet you." Smile and then you don't even have to continue the convo immediately. You broke the ice and now its never odd to just start talking to them.

The more you try, the easier it becomes. There's really no magic fix like many would lead you to believe. Practice makes perfect. The more confident and comfortable you become in anything (not just girls), the better things will be. I know that's not the answer you wish to hear, but its the truth.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
