I'm not an expert on employment laws, but I'm pretty sure that an employer cannot 'dismiss' an employee, in the UK, you can be made redundant which means you lose your job, but you get an amount of money proportional to your wages and how long you had your job, but your employer cannot then hire someone else to do your previous job.
