The pamphlet states "Battering is not exclusively a crime against women, but women are the majority of victims; thus this publication is primarily directed to the battered wife or woman." There is no mention of abuse against men.

It's following the same definitions of SA that feminists use. That is, extremely broad and subjective definitions.

I was saying nobody in this thread said that.

You're so fucking hilariously stupid. It's almost sad.

Hahaha you're funny. Nobody ever gave any logical rationale as to why I was wrong and you guys are just fucking idiotic.. It's really hilarious. Keep talking, I need some entertainment.

Your argument does not hold water as it is a NOMINALISTIC IDEA. If we all adopt nominalistic thinking, debates won't go anywhere, ever. Your chances of becoming a senator don't matter. The statistics of gender disparity in positions in power are what matter. Fact of the matter is, you're going to keep arguing the same point, meanwhile you and some pals call me an idiot for not fucking reason, and I'm going to keep correcting you unsubstantiated, nominalist, experiential, personal claims, stating…

Wait... I'm stupid because I went to college? Huh? Also, my argument was not that a fallacious statement in and of itself is valid. I simply said that if an example illustrates a concept well and clearly, it doesn't matter if the example itself is fallacious, as long as the actual concept is not fallacious. You guys really are a bunch of dickheads who refuse to even consider opposing opinions. There's a reason people see us MRAs as a joke, you know.

So, based on your logic, I didn't read any of your post after the ad hominem that you just shot at me. Call me wrong, sure. Let's debate it. Call me embarrassingly stupid and not worth debating? Go fuck yourself, you cynical, self righteous cunt. People like you who completely disregard any statement contrary to their belief are the reason we have this divide between Feminists and MRAs (As well as the plague that is bipartisanship in our government). If you had read my full thoughts, analyzed th…

You are putting words into my mouth. Statistically, men do have more legislative power than women. That is a sheer fact. If you say that we don't, you are ignoring raw data and are being stubborn and ignorant. Do men have more power as a whole on society? No, they don't. I was illustrating an area where one gender has more power than the other. Women certainly have more power than men in other areas. I'm beginning to think you haven't even looked at my other comment, as I've described this in mu…

I guess I didn't clarify then. Men have tended, statistically to be favored more in the legislative areas of government. Women have been favored more in the judiciary. Thought that was implied but I guess not.

Nothing says a fallacious example cannot be a valid one, although it's hardly even fallacious if you take a minute and critically read my other comments. To back up someone's argument in itself is a fallacy is wrong, but to use a fallacy to illustrate a concept is completely fine. However that doesn't even matter as my example was indeed factual You suggesting what you think I should do implies that I said something false. No words I said were false.

Because I'm a lazy fuck, take a look at my replies to other comments. My argument isn't actually about men in politics, it just uses it as an example.

You're missing the point. You're saying "not in my class." This sounds harsh, but your class doesn't matter. What matters is the entire spectrum of humanity as a whole. My point was not an actual argument on the representation of men and women in congress, nor was it about a glass ceiling. My point was that both sides (Feminists and MRAs) are in fact incorrect when they claim that they don't have privileges. I was simply using the congressional argument as an example to demonstrate my point. I c…

Nobody ever said there were. You're putting words into mouths. The statement was simply that men have some privileges, while women have others and I was defending that as true.
/r/MensRights09/03/14 08:58 AM

Nobody said that. Again, you're thinking in nominalist terms. Because one person experiences something doesn't make it true for everyone. However, because one person DOESN'T experience it does not make it false for everyone. So to say "I don't have a congressional position, therefore male privilege doesn't exist," is a false belief. Sure, you're not a congressman. However, that in no way disproves the gender disparity in the Congress of the USA. So, in order to come to the most logical conclusio…

That's an unfair statement. The question was about men, not every man. No statement can ever be factual if you take such a nominalistic approach. You have to look at the statistical history. Men, in general, have and have had more political power than women. It's a fact. Does that mean EVERY man is more powerful than a EVERY woman? No. But in general it is, and whenever you debate anything about a large group of people, you HAVE to speak generally for the sake of realism.

I mean, historically, men have made almost all political, military, and governmental decisions. Women are looked upon much more forgivingly by courts. Those are two that I can think of.

This is why I appreciated your true addition to feminism. I feel like what you (and pretty much all of us) are looking for is egalitarianism or humanism. Simply put, all people are equal no matter what.

No offense but it sounds like you're (and I hate this phrase) "not with the times." Some guys shorts go more than 3 inches above the knew now. While I understand your pajama argument, leggings and yoga pants are part of common style Noe. Tank tops, genuinely don't understand that. But I'm not really arguing a point here rather than just questioning so I'll shut up now haha. Merry christmas!

Well just out of curiosity what would be your standard?
/r/MensRights25/12/13 04:14 PM

I don't agree with you, however you do have some valid points. I just feel like a public school should not be able to mandate such strict dress code.

I'm sorry but IF you're not a troll, how the fuck do you just go around all fine and dandy when somebody lied and it ruined your life? I apologize if your story is real, but you seem irrationally lethargic about protecting yourself and seem like almost a false accuser apologist.

Guys this can't NOT be a troll. The username is obvious_grendel. Grendel is the damned troll from Beowulf. How is this not obvious. Edit: I just want to clarify that stuff like this IS real. I just have trouble trusting an OP who identifies themselves right off the bat as a troll.

I mean, it is kind of a "catch all," but women do identify as feminist. It's just unfortunate that feminism (and parts of the MRM) have been reduced to zero sum arguments.

Agreed. I don't necessarily think that he wants harsher punishment for women, however. I do think that he wants equal sentencing as a priority over all else. I disagree with him, but it seems that that's the point he's getting at.

I like how being male makes you violent, but not having a male parent makes you violent, even though according to the UN, the male parent would obviously end up commuting violence, causing the child to grow up and become a violent adult. TL;DR YOU GET TO BE VIOLENT! AND YOU GET TO BE VIOLENT! EVERYBODY GETS TO BE VIOLENNNNNNTT!

I don't. I'm a huge advocate for men's rights and the use of the words "faggot' and the like ITT are idiotic. I mean, really? I disagreed with something you said. I asked you to stop. Therefore I'm a faggot and a hypervigilant Feminist who thinks everything isb"literally rape." Great deduction skills.

The thing is, I'm not mandating he change something. He could do whatever he wants. I just asked him, politely I might add, to stop. If he doesn't want to, fine. I just thing bigotry and generalizations are worse than what you call thought policing.

He absolutely has a right to it. He has a right to do anything he damn well pleases. I just think statements like that are detrimental to the cause if men's rights. It makes us seem just as bigoted and misogynistic as radfems.

Saying a women's AA should be called WAA! Implies that woman alcoholics, or, because of the article, feminists, are nothing but whiners.

I'm not homosexual, but that's extremely offensive. Down vote away, but the thing that separates feminists and MRAs is that we can police ourselves. Or, at least I thought we could.

The people who make fun of women in this sub detract from the goal of men's rights. I'm an MRA, but when you try to poke fun at feminists, you're no better than they are. Please don't be one of those people.

Five minutes on that sub and I want to go smack every one of them upside the head. Not because they're generalizing ignorant fools, but because they're women (sarcasm).
