I remained baffled as to why in this world any man would walk around with live sperm inside of them much less putting that live sperm anywhere that it might be used against them. Men, get yourself fixed and take control of your reproductive destiny. Because the world doesn't give a shit about you.

I think the distinction you are making is too subtle and possibly pointless. Protest is protest. Sure, they word their protest in the personal form (it's unfair for me). But, so what? Their cause is also our cause. Shooting at them is not helping the cause, bro.

I have to completely disagree with you. The points being made are valid. Why do politicians avail themselves of sex workers and then do nothing about changing these antiquated sex laws? Why are we spending government (yours and mine) resources enforcing laws that don't benefit anyone? The only one "bitching" here, is you.

Agree. This is unwatchable crap. This doesn't empower me or make me a better man or human. Also, just because there is a bad law, it doesn't mean we should spend public funds enforcing that law. There's a good point to be made that no one is better off because cops are busting sex workers.

it shouldn't be wholly on men to figure out a way to say things such that women don't need to do any work to understand it I neither wrote nor implied nor intended to write this. Not in the least. If this is what you read, I suggest you reexamine your own biases. Notice that I'm most clearly wrote that men must "own their own part".

This is not news. Ask any sex worker from the 40s, 50s or 60s. Most of their business came from married men who wanted a sex life.

You seem optimistic, but I can't figure out why. You're not really comprehending what I've been writing here. Give it some thought.

So what? Bitch and moan? What is your point? If every man did a little something, eventually the tide would turn. But some of us, apparently you, for example, prefer to play victim and cry about it. What is that expression? If you ain't part of the solution then you're part of the problem?

I've and many other men have been working on it since before Windows 95 came out, with damn little to show for it. I wouldn't brag about that. I've been active since The Myth of Male Power was published. I had begun my awareness a few years earlier during personal therapy. What have you got? I can count more than two dozen former hard-core feminists (both women and men) that I've flipped (they no longer consider themselves feminists) simply by getting them to understand the issues and the fallac…

So your saying that being married to a man and raising a son means nothing in the face of public discourse? Really? Yes. It's easy to see right here on Reddit that people will reddily discount their personal experiences in the face of overwhelming group think to the contrary. I've had discussions here with more than a few who are willing to say, in essence, "I thought otherwise and I have heard different opinions, but look, everyone here seems to think this way, so I must be wrong" I'm not even …

Thank you for the link. I am not the least bit surprised about what she writes but it's not common to have such a compelling account documented.

It's not difficult. There is almost zero public discourse about the raising of boys to men. Most of our societal knowledge is outdated. Much of the public dialog is devoted to women (as victims and men as perpetrators) but almost none to the subject of how men become men (for good or bad - it's just easier to assume we're totally a function of our genes and nothing else). Although I have had a personal interest in this topic since the mid 90s, now is the first time I'm starting to see just a gli…

Yes, although many companies later changed that to include all children. But originally it was just daughters.

Thank you for this post and for deciding to be fair and treat your SO humanely. It's all too rare, with all the dialog around the power that men hold, that women will admit to their own power and to it's sometimes unfair and unkind use. The fact that we are all people and that we can hold and wield power over each other doesn't get nearly enough discussion, IMO. In the end, it's really human rights. But it gets politicized, gender-ized and then loses value as a discussion topic. Thank you again …

I think he is expressing an ideal. It's not wrong, but it's an ideal. More important are the real life practical matters. Another thing he says that I find more useful: “Don’t speak for women. Hold other men accountable,” he said. “When you’re amongst the guys and see and hear them talking about something toxic, you have to call them out on it,” That's how are become better men for ourselves and for each other. It's not about women. It's about we men.

“Barbering qualifications apply to the cutting of men’s hair. If you identify as a man or you desire a man’s haircut, we will cut your hair.” Seems completely fair.

I can certainly see a point in saying that this examination shows sexism. I think it's an angle worth considering. But I also keep in mind that since this is a fairly unusual situations it's going to shake up the dialogue and cause people to focus on different things then they might otherwise talk about. I don't excuse this but I do recognize it.

I know it's not a cheerful thought but consider this, soon you'll be shepherding them all through their first divorced whilel they ask you for advice about how to be happy and single.

This could have been so much better of an interview except Fox & Friends sucks. Those people don't know the first thing about interviewing. Instead they just want to jam in their own opinions which don't matter when they're talking to an expert. This is why I don't watch that show or that Network.

At one point in my life, I told my mother that unless and until she could treat me with the respect that every adult deserves that she would lose the privilege of conversation with me. We didn't speak for many years except for urgent family matters. You don't deserve abuse from any woman, including your mother. You have the right to ask for and insist upon decency. If she can't respect your choices and can't keep her disagreement civil, you need to let her know this is unacceptable to you. And y…

IMO, the better question is, if women's only clubs can (and, as this author states, should) exist, then isn't it also logical that there are reasons for some groups/clubs/etc to be male-only? I can think of at least one good example, and that is to have a safe place to discuss the evolving definition of masculinity in the modern world. I think it is too difficult to have this discussion in mixed gender groups. The article outlines a case where a man sued for admission to a female-only gym and wa…
