Well everyone Is entitled to their preferences. But just be aware that nobody is perfect so I mean you’ll always find something wrong ya know. But what can you live with ? Some people live with an alcoholic, smoker someone with a mental illness because they love them irrespective. Their vices don’t bother then.

He was with his ex-wife for 9 years. So he is probably a one woman man. Even if you did not have an exclusivity talk - he probably assumed you were. That's my take on it anyways. Everyone else is going to tell you he is needy or too much drama. And maybe the crying is a bit much. But just talk to him! Does he want to be exclusive? Do you want it? Does him crying somehow make him seem weaker to you?

If it helps, my therapist asked me to spend some time alone. Just doing things by myself or with my friends. Nothing I need medication for, but just to be more happier and content. Do you have any hobbies that are outside of your relationship? Focus on that. Also communicate with your SO. Tell him how you feel, but men can honestly only take so much. They just deal with emotions very differently. I liked the response by one person who said she tells her SO that she needs some alone time and she'…

I'm so sorry. I understand how you feel. i feel like I sabotage my relationship too sometimes. Have you tried looking for a different therapist? Mine basically told me to stop my dependence on my boyfriend and to move it to other aspects of my life. Its also the knowledge that you will be ok no matter what. Sometimes we get anxiety because we think without our SO - we would be completely lost. But that is not true. The nature of the world is you will meet someone else. And even if not - you will…

Ok. Do as you wish but just remember that regret is a very strong emotion. So treat him right atleast. Give him a real chance. Let him know you are thinking of separation. Then if you still wish to live without him, know that you can never come back. You might also never find the ideal person you are looking for. But if you are ok with the consequences of your actions - do what your intuition tells you. Happiness can never be found outside. It has to be within you always. Good luck!

Have you thought about marriage counseling or therapy? That is the standard last ditch attempt and it might alteast give your husband some closure if separation is the final step you take.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
