2	Circumcision Apart from some very rare forms of cancer, I'm not familiar with any conditions where female circumcision is medically necessary per se, but certain forms of it can absolutely be beneficial. I had a type 2a cut, complete removal of my labia minora and partial removal of my clitoral hood (aka foreskin.) 2	Why does no one care about male genital mutilation (circumcision) ? I also underwent adult circumcision in my 20s, but I'm a female. I understand where you're coming from; I too would find it ridiculous if someone claimed that what I paid a board-certified surgeon to do under anesthesia was "barbaric."
