If it's a private establishment, let them dig their own grave.

And I also worry about where young boys are looking for their role models, as they move away from activities like Scouting. It seems to me, the powers that be, are trying to make sure this very thing comes from non-male role models. It simply amazes me how some women seem to know how to teach men to be men better than other men can.

I think what this person meant was that she (as the mother) is superior of the son. Which I guess I can't argue too much over if he is still technically a child living under her roof. She makes the rules, he has to obey these rules while living there.

Not sure why you're being downvoted, but I didn't look at the stats page either. However, I do agree many people don't like being labeled a "feminist" or an "MRA" like myself, who prefers just to say I support the idea of gender egalitarianism. Which unfortunately, isn't popular because you can't have victims to convince people to take sides.

If the rest of the cast is voluntarily doing this, I see no problem.

This article is a tough pill to swallow for some people I can imagine. When you have nothing but disagreement with what was said, you turn to the fallacy claim.

If it was only extreme feminists it wouldn't be an issue, the problem is that main stream media, politicians and ordinary people do this, that is what is causing the problem. The extreme feminists probably knew what they were doing when they infiltrated your examples. Which in turn, it's still them.

And some people wonder why others can't take this sub seriously. It's because of posts like these with 1000+ upvotes.

Men can't receive prejudice (especially white heterosexual ones) didn't you know that? /s

I usually agree with Maher on lots of social issues. This is not one of them. He clearly suffers from 'white knight' syndrome like many men in this country.

So when 2 people have sex they are raping each other? The logic was too much for them to handle.

They should have just left the statistic out of it in my opinion. It's totally irrelevant.

As a man who was raped when I was a kid, this is fantastic. However, I'm not sure how well it will go over in today's society -- which is simply saddening. Edit: After reading some of the comments, I find people are focusing on the statistic more than the awareness. We should be fighting against ALL sexual abuse...

Guy who was raped here, also. I concur.

I'm fine. As I mentioned, it doesn't bother me at all really. In fact, I rarely even think about it.

To be honest, it really doesn't bother me. However, I think her reaction was either she was so uncomfortable about it that she was speechless, or she thought it couldn't be true. Regardless, it's the principal that I really received no feedback at all.

I was doing my original assessment with my therapist a few years back and she asked me a question if I had any traumatic experiences growing up. I told her that when I was seven, I was raped by my babysitter who was a high school girl at the time. She paused and looked at me, and said "anything else?" as if this was of no significance. I can't say that it was directly attributed to me being a man in his late 20's at the time, but I would be willing to bet if I would have been a woman, I would ha…

I like to think that's the goal. However, I know now after all these posts from both sides that it is absolutely impossible. Why must people make everything us vs them. I guess it's human nature.

My problem is why can't you be a feminist and a supporter of men's rights? I know it's possible, and I think when we use the word feminist, it automatically refers to the misandrists.

I just don't want to turn into a misogynist. Then, I've stooped to the radical man hating feminist level.

I'm not personally for hamstringing feminism. I am for making the public aware of how radical feminism blatantly treats all men like scum of the earth. All in all, I just want equality. And yes, as a male, it really pisses me off that women get away with far more then men do when it comes to justice and equality. So if you want to lump me in with the folks who state "There can be no common ground" with feminists, go right ahead. You would be wrong, though.

Well said.

I actually love the idea of feminism. What I don't like is feminism over reaching and hamstringing men. It's like the total opposite before the women's right movement. The two genders just switched places. That is NOT equality.

Anyone else find it funny that a system such a socialism, which to my knowledge is supposed to be in the best interest of all its people, would reject an idea of MR's and true equality.
