I just found your post, I agree, you said basically the same thing, but look at your delivery compared to mine. How you deliver the message is almost as important as the message itself. That's a lesson I had to learn the hard way, over and over again lol. My message was direct, to the point, and without any sarcasm or snark. It could absolutely be because you are female, but I think it is more about the delivery. Don't let it discourage you from posting though, the simplest comment in a feminism…

If she wore them before or while dating and then you expect them to change because you are dating now, that's controlling. Find someone that has the same morals as you too date. It's one thing to tell her you prefer her to wear something else, but as soon as you try to make her or start criticizing her about it, that's controlling. You don't get to decide what your partner wears.

You might be just seeing the small percentage of women that are loud and think this and being flooded those stereotypes.

If it turns out they made it up and got convicted then it would belong here.

Not sure why this is under ppd. If it's true that they were subjected too that type of abuse and the police did nothing (not surprising in Russia) then this would be self defense. I wouldn't blame them one bit.

Why is this under ppd?

You have a very valid point. I'm a Gen Xer so it was definitely different. Thanks for pointing that out.

I have been happily married for 25 years and the one thing I can say is stop trying so hard. Just be the best version of yourself for yourself, not for anyone else, and hopefully you will find someone that adores you for exactly who you are, faults and all. I was far from ideal when I met my wife and I am still far from ideal but I try to make myself better for me not for her and she appreciates that more than anything else because for truly wants me to be happy. I hope you all find happiness ho…

I guess the question I need answered before going further is what is your definition of oppression?

So are we talking about historical society or are we talking about England in the 1700s to modern day?

Why would we need to do anything about them?

Western culture has made great progress with equality and a case can be made that it has gone too far but there is some truth to the saying that when you have been privileged for so long equality feels like oppression and I think that is a mental trap that a lot of us modern Western make fall into. Radical 3rd and 4th wave feminist are a small majority when looking at the greater whole

Coverture was almost entirely English and not in most ancient societies and that concept really didn't come into being until the middle ages right?

Look at the Roman empire for example and why would marriage and gender norms matter? If you are a mature adult but could not vote, own property, be involved in politics, be involved in finances, be killed for adultry (when men were not), would that feel oppressive?

You are specific taking about Western culture here?

It really depends on what you mean by oppressive but I'm the general sense of the word history, if anything, had downplayed how poorly women were treated. You can still see it in society today. In some societies women were seen as property, worth less than animals. They had no say in anything. This is still the case in some societies today. So yes, it was really bad.

How do you know? Maybe the men are driving the women away. Maybe they were not given a choice. Maybe the dad died. Blaming women for this is ridiculous.

Umm. Disagree. Let's blame the fathers for not being there? How can a mom raise a boy like a father could.

Yeah, I don't think so. You make so many ridiculous claims in this I don't even know where to begin. There are a ton of happily married men in the world. It's great with the right partner.

American Heritage Girls do all the things scouts do. They even learn about archery and shooting handguns and rifles. The issue is it is strictly a christian organization.

I keep hearing similar stats but I haven't seen a source. Do you have one for this?
/r/MensRights08/02/19 11:25 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
