No that is not the case at all. The whole idea of attempted suicide being for attention is outrageously false. This is why 62% of women who commit suicide have previously attempted suicide. The reason is due to the method chosen. Women are more considerate to their families in that they don't want to do something that leaves their brains splattered all over the wall etc. This is why if they choose to shoot themself, men are more likely to shoot themself in the head whereas women are more likely …

A lot of his sources when read through in full contradict his own statements. He cherry picks what information to use knowing that you would need his exact citation to prove him wrong. He purposefully omits information pertinent to the statistics because they either prove him wrong or make his points moot

So thats 3-0 on the reliable evidence. Outstanding victory on my part

Great rebuttal. I might use that one in court some time

They're from 3 reliable sources that directly support my statements. It doesnt matter where they show up in Google searches they are accurate citations that back up my "claims". Where are your citations that say I'm wrong? You argue about the legitimacy of my argument without providing ANY evidence to back it. You're even worse than Jordan Peterson

Im in a predominantly right wing sub arguing about Jordan Peterson, I'm never going to have more upvotes. But I'm still right.

I already cited one which is more than anyone supporting Jordan Peterson or the man himself, but since you asked: nlhcp.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/homeless_stats_fact_sheet.pdf drugabuse.gov/publications/research-reports/substance-use-in-women/sex-gender-differences-in-substance-use bbc.com/future/article/20190313-why-more-men-kill-themselves-than-women

How is that winning his argument? He's talking about desperate situations, being better at a bad thing does not mean you're worse off than someone else. For example, you're terrible at arguing but I'm getting more downvotes

Because anonymous studies have shown what percentage of people do not report their rape, those statistics are then used to estimate the true number of incidents. Obviously its not going to be 100% accurate but its close enough that all statisticians agree that its a viable extrapolation

Homelessness ties in with most criminals and soldiers being men. Many people become homeless after being released from prison or returning from deployment. Substance abuse plays a large role in both homelessness and suicide. Studies have shown "for most age groups men have higher rates of use or dependence on illicit drugs and alcohol than do women" quoted from the National Institute on Drug Abuse just in case you wanted a source. As for most suicides being men, did you know that most suicide AT…

Its embarrassing how far I had to scroll down to see someone who sees Jordan Peterson for who he really is. Every statistic he quotes it taken completely out of context and disregards all variables. For example saying most people in prison are men is another way of saying most crime is commited by men, and the reason most casualties of war are men is that most soldiers are men

You don't need to know someone's name to feel empathy jesus fucking christ. Are you telling me you could see a nuke hit New York and as long as you didnt know anyone killed you wouldn't care? You do know a lack of empathy is linked to psychoses?

12 in 100,000 is also every year. Thats how statistics work. They may fluctuate but its always measure over a finite period of time. Its not that 12 of those people die and then no-one else is ever shot. The only difference between the two is you can't determine an accurate estimate when it relies on so many factors like population density (which will also affect the lightning strike statistic obviously), government policies, social attitudes, police spending, etc etc. As a matter of fact I do c…

Those numbers are still too fucking high even though you got them wrong. Your population is 6 times larger but the homicide rate is 18 times higher, and its not 0.00012, its 12 in every 100,000 which is 0.012%, you just can't do maths. In comparison 1 in every 700,000 people in the US are struck by lightning. 310 people are shot every day in the US. 4 children die due to gun violence per day. Thats a child shot dead every 6 hours. To say 40,000 lives don't matter is abhorrent and you should be a…

You have more mass shootings than days in the year, we only get about that amount of fatal stabbings total. So factor in all your homicides with guns and knives, which you fail to remember exist in a higher quantity and lethality in the US, and your point is totally invalid
