Genetic is far too slow to explain the massive rise in people with these issues. A small segment could maybe be genetic, but the majority are far more likely to be driven by external factors. Seems like more society driven fad or some form of mass hysteria to me.

They aren't going to give numbers, especially if they're bad. There's some anecdotal stuff from various bars/restockers floating around. I find the long silence from their own company Twitter accounts to be the most telling of how poorly this has gone for them though.

The name "political correctness" should tell people exactly how worthless that whole philosophy is. The whole purpose for its invention was as a tool for public figures(predominantly politicians) to project a fake veneer of moral superiority and to avoid gaffs. Politicians suck, why should anyone want to emulate them? So stupid that it somehow gained traction within culture and spread to the public. That makes a lot of sense. Men have had a lot of evolutionary pressure on competing with others for women as well as needing to compete for survival as men have historically held that provider/defender role. I do think reaction time and hand eye coordination play a big role in many of the big esports genres like FPS, MOBA's, and RTS though.

Yeah card games and any type of turn based game pretty much eliminates those physical advantages. Most do implement a turn timer though so there is an element of speed of thought and decisiveness required. Hafu was able to compete at a pro level in Hearthstone. Still there ended up being a lack of female competition in that game as well. Not sure we have enough knowledge of the brain to determine if there are also gender based differences there but its possible. With those types of games it real…

Some of the physical advantages men have extend into gaming. Men generally have faster reaction time for instance, which is highly important in most esports games especially as the level of competition increases. Tough to say if other traits or different types of games could balance this out or not, but the lack of women in esports to me suggests they may have difficulty competing with men at least at the pro levels.
