I'm on the left and statistically speaking, women are often harmed by men, but that doesn't mean men often harm women. It may seem paradoxical to say it but it's true, 63% of all violent acts against women are commented by 1% of all men. It helps to think of it in terms of something tangible like apples. If you have 100 apples and 100 men and you tell the men not to take any apples, about 31 apples will be taken. About 8 men will take 1 apple each, a ninth man will take 3 apples, while a tenth m…

I think feminism has been hijacked by radicals. We just need to reach out to feminists and point this out to them. There's nothing wrong with how feminism started, and quite frankly we need it to stay, we just need it to be more moderate.

See, you're putting words in my mouth. I never said it was her fault. I said it should be acceptable to teach her to look for the signs so she doesn't have to go through it again. But too many people want to label "teaching" as "victim blaming".

I think you can have a lot of sympathy and still feel like the victim could have made better choices. If I went on vacation for two weeks, came home to find my house was broken into, all my cool stuff was stolen, then I go to file a police report so I can make an insurance claim, and during the police interview they ask me how did the burglar break in, then I responded with "oh I left my door unlocked in case one of the neighbors wanted to borrow something". I can completely understand if both t…

I remember a time years ago when I was single, I had a friend/coworker tell me to "just be myself" and then less than a minute later she asked me why I'm so weird. By the way for context "weird" here didn't mean creepy, she meant that I'm just an oddball.

Here's why you don't ask women for dating advice. There's an old saying, "watch what people do, not what they say". There was a study done (sorry I don't have a link) where participants were asked a series of questions, one of the questions was "what type of coffee do you most like" to which the most common answer given was "rich dark roast" . Those same participants were then offered coffee in a break room where various types of coffee was available, the least popular flavor was the rich dark r…

No not one man abusing 63 women. Look at my analogy with the apples again. It's one man abusing roughly 20 women. If you had a village with exactly 100 men and 100 women, and you told me 31% of women are being abused, that's the same as saying 31 women are being abused. If one man in the village abused 20 women, then he'd be 1% of men responsible for 63% of the women being abused because 63% of 31 is 20. But like I said if you were to look at this 1% of men, he's more than likely a violent perso…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/26 04:08 AM

I had this conversation recently and got nowhere. I told someone that 1% of all men are responsible for 63% of all abuse towards women. Of course reading that at first seems like its way too high for only 1%, but let's look at it this way, 31% of women have been abused by a man according to most studies. If we were to use apples instead of women then we can put 100 apples in a room with 100 men and tell them that they're not to take any apples. Later we discover 31 apples missing, or 31% of the …

So I want to address your question and not all the responses already given. For me I think a man making everything about himself (at least on a dating site) is fine, it's also fine for a woman's profile to make everything about herself, because people in search of love tend to have requirements, and that's perfectly okay. I know back when I used dating sites, I used to include things like (no rednecks or women who like country music please) only to receive messages from women who wanted to rant …

Counterpoint here. I'm a man who had a brief experience with dating sites. I preferred reading what women didn't like so I would know if we didn't like the same things. For instance I can say "I like rock music" that doesn't mean that I'm looking for someone who also likes rock music, but it helped if she said that she didn't like rock music in her profile, then I know not to waste her time as well as mine. Also I hate country music, so if her profile said "I hate country music" then I'd know th…

I'm a huge fan of comic books, and love to see people cosplay as Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, She-Hulk etc. and when you go to any sub here on Reddit where people are cosplaying, half are women doing a half ass attempt at looking like any generic comic book characters they can, just to promote their OF. So yes they infiltrate everywhere, and no the algorithm is not going to weed them out.

I'm in a relationship now (I'm actually engaged) but when I was single I used dating apps and I can honestly say I had the least amount of success on Bumble than any other app. Bumble had many flaws that worked against itself. For starters the women messaging first seems like a good way to filter out unwanted inappropriate messages, but unless the women who speak first actually have something to say other than "Hi" and then ignore any response, then conversations aren't going to happen. I honest…

I once used Bumble. The thing that struck me as odd was that women would have to initiate the conversation. This I assume was to keep a bunch of unwanted messages to fill up thier inboxes. But the odd part was many women would initiate the conversation by saying "hi" but when I responded they wouldn't say anything. I believe that they were selecting me to message to keep on the back burner while they pursued their first choices. So I made a rule on my profile. If a woman initiate a conversation …

I thought I remembered reading an article that said women are more likely than men to watch porn where the woman porn character is manipulated or blackmailed into sex. Like the woman was caught shoplifting and the security guard says he'll call the police or she can suck him off, that sort of stuff.

I don't know why, but anytime I see or hear a story of a girl student being targeted at a school, it's by a volleyball coach. Edit: I do remember one case of a male teacher and a female student, they were on the run together and were caught on video at a Walmart. I think they were either from Seattle or got caught in Seattle.

I think this is the best answer here. 20% of men have women fall into their lap. 80% of men have to work at it. Those 80% might have settled for any woman where the 20% got to choose for the one (or more) they want. I've always said that most women will pick a man who have options and rarely pick the men with no options. This is why the myth that most men cheat is so prevalent. Most women chose men who cheat because most women are picking the guys who have several options.

I think this is like asking why some people fear dogs when not all dogs are bad. It's because we don't know if it's bad by looking at it. Having said that as a man I do get upset when I'm at my girlfriend's daughter's soccer game while her mom is busy, and people look at me like I'm a weirdo for being at a soccer game full of nine year olds because typically it's the mom bringing kids to soccer games or both parents together. My girlfriend does things like this as well. She tells me all the time that she wishes I would do more "nice" things for her, but the last two times I tried doing something nice for her she got angry with me. Then she'll say that she wishes I wouldn't get angry with her but whenever something happens where I'm angry with her, I get treated well for the rest of the day.

You say don't treat people like they will suffer the average outcome. Well the average person will suffer the average outcome. And people may not say what they really want in real life but they'll show it. For example if you like eating healthy and prefer a partner that does as well, it's easy to say "I like to eat healthy" but if you're out at a sports bar when meeting them, and they order a double bacon cheeseburger and a bowl of wings then you discover the truth then. And yes people have way …

But how do you know who you have compatibility with? As I said in my post most bios are created by people who have no idea what they want. These studies I mentioned have done a great job of proving that.

I'm a liberal anti-feminist man. As such I make enemies on all sides. I will say that I much prefer having a woman boss over a male boss. Due to the nature of my job I have a new boss every few years, and I've only experienced one toxic woman boss while having several toxic men bosses. I will however say that one toxic woman boss was pretty bad and probably the second worse boss I've ever had. Still given my experiences with who is more likely to be toxic I tend to favor women bosses.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 01:12 PM

I think the kind of men who are only after a pretty face attract the women who are doing the same. I can tell you that after my divorce when I started dating again, the hottest girl I was (according to my friends) with was the worst girlfriend I ever had. While a pretty face is nice, the big four things I was looking for in a partner was: Is she nice? Yes believe it or not that was my number one requirement. Are we compatible? It does no good to want to be with someone who wants to go do things …

/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/23 12:17 PM

I honestly think it's more of a numbers thing than anything. I'm 5' 11" and was constantly rejected online for not being Six feet tall, but in real life I'm constantly referred to as "tall" by women I interact with including my girlfriend. There's something about seeing that perfect height in writing, but it doesn't matter in real life. It's kinda like wanting premium tickets to a ball game or a concert that's rows 1-10 but have to settle for tickets in rows 11-20 and realizing once you get ther…

As a white male, here's my perspective. I tried telling my girlfriend that this country has a history of white women accusing black men of crimes they didn't commit. My earliest memory of this happening was when Susan Smith (a white woman who drowned her babies in a lake) blamed a black man for the crime. It went as far as a black man getting arrested for it. For me I find myself in the middle of the road on lots of feminist issues. I think there ought to be more diversity in companies and I wouldn't want my daughter going to work for a company that only has men in leadership roles, or has a history of sexual harassment complaints. Having said that I think too many feminists will identify a problem and say "it's a man's fault" without actually looking to see how the problem could be solved without just blaming men.

The woman who is mad at guys for mistaken 16 year olds for 18 year olds also doesn't want you sleeping with the 18 year olds. At the end of the day the 18 year olds are her competition, and she is threaten by it. So any man who would choose the 18 year old is automatically a bad guy, so if he mistakes a 16 year old for an 18 year old (despite the 16 year old literally lying about her age), then he's still a bd guy.

There was a study done many years ago, I wish I knew where so I can quote the source, in which participants answered a questionnaire. Among the many questions was one particular question, it asked "how do you like your coffee" and the answers were multiple choice, the most common answer gave was "rich dark roast". The same participants then we're offered a break, in which coffee was served. The majority of the people who answered "rich dark roast" actually drank thier coffee thin milky and sweet…
