You are confusing wealth and income. You are taxed on income not wealth. Eg Jeff ceo of amazon is worth over 70 billion but he only made 81k from direct income the rest is tied up in both his company and stock but if he spends it he gets taxed as does any one. Also the 1% will pay most of the taxes and will have the highest rates and will pay 27% of the countries tax. Do not argue for them to pay more when they already pay by far the most.
