I agree with you, but with one caveat. In a street fight, the main/only submission worth hunting for is the RNC. #1 sub in MMA, super high percentage against combatants who don't know how to defend against it.

80% of street fights where the combatants are equally matched in size/strength go to the ground. Boxing is a great discipline if you're able to control the distance of the fight.... but the moment you're not there's a good chance you'll end in a situation where all your training no longer applies. Round yourself out with an emphasis on grappling and then add striking to your skills. Jean Jaque Machado said it best, "I am a shark, the ground is my ocean, and most people don't know how to swim."

BJJ Purple Belt here, being able to train your martial art at full speed everyday is what hard wires 'unconscious competence.' Krag Magra is a great library of techniques.... However, since you can't actually practice them at full force in real time against your training partners. So you won't be able to use it the same way you can hit an armbar, triangle, etc, that you've subbed dozens and dozens of your training partners at 100% resistance over a few years with.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
