Nah. The point is that you stop giving a fuck about whether you're getting women or not, because your life is fun and interesting as is. In turn, you'll become more attractive.

What can I do from here on out? What are my next steps? I am lost, I feel like there is no hope. Just gonna be honest. It's gonna be hard to get laid at college if you don't have a tight social circle. That's just how it works. For now, ask yourself these questions: Do you like what you're studying? What are your hobbies outside of class? Do you dress well? How often do you go the gym? When you're not studying, you need to fill up your days with hobbies that you enjoy. Forget about "game." Have …

Fantastic post. I used some "inner-game" tricks like these around two years ago. Ended up having the most social/ romantic success in my life. However, I also want to emphasize the importance of your last point. When you've been in a shell your whole life, it's easy to take these mindsets overboard. That's what happened to me. I started doing what I wanted and "giving no fucks" so much that I became a narcissistic douchebag. Inevitably, that all came crashing down. You've gotta have balance. Som…

that humans are only able to perceive the world through contrast I love Watts, but I find this bit a little confusing. What about things like math and logic? Do those require a contrast to be understood? To me, it seems like 2 + 2 will always equal 4, regardless of how we perceive it. I would agree that everything else is relative and depends on a person's frame of reference. Watts' lectures have really helped me discover the self for what it is and have in turn improved my life tremendously.

Sure. I guess "ego-dissolution" would be the best way to describe it. I realized that most of what we worry about simply exists because it has evolved in our bodies. The things that cause us suffering (i.e., the desire to do well in school, make enough money, be liked by people, etc.) seem real and necessary to us, but in essence, they're all a pile of shit. Our culture only promotes these traits because they are useful for the continued survival and "improvement" of our species. Yet, at the cor…

if you use em as such Agree 100%. Of course, one needs to be sensitive to the extreme negative impact drugs can have on people's lives. Addiction is a very serious psychological problem that can completely destroy a person and their relationships, so I think we should keep that in mind before praising drugs too much. That said, taking acid was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I've only done it once, yet it's had a lasting impact on the way I view myself and reality. I think i…

I'm glad you came to that realization. Some people just want to earn their keep and enjoy their lives. It's true for guys and it's true for girls. There are going to be females out there with similar values as OP, by the sheer nature of large numbers. The trick is to put yourself out there and determine which type of people you click with.

Good summary, but I think you're misunderstanding a couple of points. always respect and prioritize yourself over others. That's called selfishness. Manson's point is that you need to prioritize your OPINION of yourself over the opinion of others. It's a small but important distinction. Personally, I think you're a lot better off in life if you try to love others more than yourself. Never invest more time/energy into a person than they do you. This isn't an absolute truth. Yeah, for practical re…

Really good post. This is the way I try to view life: we're all fucked. We live in a universe that gives zero shits about us. We spend our short time on this planet mostly sleeping and working jobs we hate - just to continue surviving. And pretty soon, all of us are going to die. Things kind of suck. But, the redeeming quality is love. Once you accept this shitty hand you're dealt, you start to see that every other person is dealing with the exact same thing. We're all in this struggle together.…

Yes. Because you are seeking validation from external factors. What do you do every day to improve yourself? Do you work out? Do you read good literature? Do you reach out to friends? Do you write? Do you put in work towards a career that you want? Do you meditate? Do you eat healthy? If you don't fill your days with activities that lead toward betterment, it's going to be hard to love yourself. The fact that you are/aren't getting vagina does nothing for your intrinsic worth. Your value comes f…

If you're dating a hot girl who has had sex with previous guys but she won't have sex with you, then is it really a relationship? Um.. yeah. Unless you value sex above an emotional connection with a person, then you're perfectly capable of having a relationship with a girl who doesn't go all the way. What if the girl has had bad experiences with guys using her for sex in the past? What if she was abused as a child and it takes her a long time to get comfortable becoming that vulnerable with a pe…

People in college don't give a shit about that unless you're very deeply involved in that scene, and even still, fucking girls isn't going to be campus wide news if you have tens of thousands of people at your university. I'm assuming you went to a school with a Greek population of less than 20%. There are a lot of places where 3 out of 5 girls are "deeply involved" in that scene. Trust me, it matters. I'm not about making excuses, but there are social realities that exist. And the truth is, if …

Interesting question. I'm still a student so I don't have a ton of experience in the work force, but here are my thoughts: There will always be people who don't reciprocate your outlook and your vulnerability, how should you deal with them? 1.) Perfect reply. Instead of presenting something formal, like, let's meet at Place X at Time Y, think of something you would like to do and ask if she wants to join. It sets the frame that you are inviting her to join your life instead of a formal, awkward date.

Trust me, I know how hard that can be. I went through a similar thing. After reading a lot about self-development at the beginning of the year, I went from being a reserved/shy guy, to an outgoing person with a give-no-fucks attitude within the span of a few months. This caused a lot of people in my small school to question my motivations and outwardly display dislike for me. However, it also allowed me to develop deep relationships with people who were receptive to my behavior, and eventually l…

I am afraid of being seen as desperate Stop here. This is your problem. This is a baseline level of neediness that needs to be overcome before you are going to have success. You are more invested in other people's opinions of you than your opinion of yourself. I get it. You want to look cool among your peers. And it's true, people may perceive you as a desperate try-hard. You may even get labeled a "loser" among a group of people. But that's THEIR perception. Obviously, you need to pay attention…

As someone who is breaking out of a period of depression/anxiety, this post couldn't be more on point. Our actions have a direct effect on our thoughts and our emotions ; they're all interconnected. People prone to self-sabotage tend to spend so much time on their own thoughts and emotions, that it causes them to not take actions that benefit their well-being. However, actions are a thing that you can control, and sometimes the most important step is to just do something despite the storm of neg…

Thanks for the input. It is a life ruining mistake. Get money first. Your degree rarely determines where you work and what you do in business life You see, the thing is that staying in school is actually costing me more money in the short term. I have about $15k in student loans (which is a lot better than a lot of students) that I could probably pay back in a year or year and a half if I start working now. I guess the final thing I should add is that I've been having a lot of depression and anxiety lately as well. Its a long road BTW. This x100. I read Models at the beginning of the year started practicing the "let it all out" mindset. It went great at first. I was making more friends, having a blast, and getting laid more easily than I ever had before. Then the summer came. I moved back in with my parents to save money on rent. There's actually a section in the book that talks about that. You can study and practice "hardcore game" (I'm guessing this means routines, strategies, breaking shit tests, and all that stuff), and have success. That's how Manson started. But his approach is more focused on the long-term development of yourself. If you express yourself in a completely honest, non-needy way, you will naturally polarize people. This will narrow down women who are more suited to you and your natural personality, an…

Models and then Models, again. Seriously. Instead of teaching you tricks and routines (which are short-term, and are often going to be pretty phony if they don't match your natural personality) the book actually tries to help you become a better person on a true, deep level. Once you are completely comfortable with yourself and learn to speak and behave honestly, you shouldn't need any more help cold approaching. It should be as simple as "she's cute, she could bring me happiness, therefore I wi…

If a chick is annoyed by a sincere compliment.. Why should you want to give her your time any way? Yeah - she might hear it all the time, but we're not psychics. You shouldn't have to consciously monitor what you say to a girl in fear that she will find it annoying. Be genuine and sincere and you can give whatever compliment you want. However, specificity can help.

Really? Literally every single person you encounter can't be approached without being weird or a total asshole? You must live in a terrible area and every other guy who does cold approaches must be lucky. That's sarcasm btw. You have an irrational belief, my friend. Yeah it's going to seem weird and awkward when you approach people - because you're not used to doing it. To get better.. you're actually going to have to break out of your shell and do it. This. I get called "handsome" and "pretty-boy" on a pretty regular basis, but I've struggled with women for most of my life. It wasn't until I started expressing myself openly and pursuing hobbies that I enjoy that I started having real, consistent success. You to have a baseline interestingness about you to become attractive to women. Looks are helpful, but very over-rated.

What would the consequences of a bad ONS be to you? As much as you try to avoid it, you probably do feel some unconscious shame from not having had sex yet. I'll say one thing; experience is the best teacher. The cost of a few below-average lays might be worth the benefit of knowing what you're doing when you do find a quality girl.

Your English is fine, man. Good job on putting all of this together. Personally, I think your baseline problem is neediness. You sound like you value having a girl and having sex more than your other interests and lifestyle; this is a really bad state to be in and chicks can sense it. Like another poster said - focus on building yourself for awhile. Go to the gym regularly. Get friends. Do hobbies you like. Join clubs to meet people with similar interests. Well said. I think "faking confidence" is an inaccurate and unhelpful term. If you start by improving aspects of yourself, you should never have to "fake" confidence. It should naturally follow. Put some conscious effort into becoming more vulnerable, improving your body language, and valuing yourself more than her opinion of you. Confidence will inevitably come with experience. It might feel like you're "faking" these things at first (because you didn't naturally do them to start with.) But in …

This is a pretty misguided comment, man. There are a million things that can go wrong that can have profoundly negative effects on your self confidence. Why should rejection have a negative effect on your self confidence? Is your confidence tied to what others think of you, or what you think of yourself? At the extreme end of the spectrum you can be ridiculed, publicly humiliated, made to feel like an outsider.. If someone is going to ridicule and humiliate you for approaching a person or asking…

Alright, good. You basically just need to apply the vulnerability you use when trying to be funny to flirting. You're going to fail and be rejected but you need the experience to learn what works and what doesn't. Comedy and pick up actually have a lot in common; stand-up is a good thing to study to improve your game. As far as the confidence issue goes, you should always be asking yourself: do I care more about her opinion of me or my opinion of myself? If the answer is the former, you're almos…

Hate to sound like I'm worshipping the book - but my life has improved tremendously since applying its principles. After reading it, I spent around 3-4 months practicing the book's main themes (honesty, vulnerability, and polarization) and building myself in general. Like all lifestyle changes, it was definitely awkward at first, and I didn't have a ton of immediate success. But with time and repetition, these traits naturally started to become a part of who I am. Recently, my game has gone thro…

This is a fucking brilliant breakdown. I really grasped this concept about four months ago and after some trial and error, recently I've been having the most success in my life. Not every one will like you. And that's completely fine. Solid job on your night - sounds like a good time. It all depends on your goals. Personally, I like Facebook. I feel it allows a deeper connection to a person you just met. You can stay in contact a lot easier by simply liking a status or commenting on a photo. Obviously, you need to text and meet-up on top of these things for the relationship to flourish. But Facebook is better for networking and building a social group in my opinion. Living abroad this semester (without a cellphone plan) has m…

Exactly. People tend to remember your successes much more than your failures. I would recommend watching Robin Williams' "Inside the Actor" special. There's a segment where he talks about this idea - how he is constantly throwing stuff out there and how not all of it sticks. You have to accept that not everything you say or do is going to be good in order to allow the good things to come out. It sounds simple, but it's a process that you really need to learn from experience.

This is a great post. As someone who falls into the analytical introvert category, I love the advice on doing what you like and finding people with similar interests. One of the most important things you can do is put yourself out there without a fear of failure. We introverts tend to think that we need to do a lot of reading and preparation in order to succeed at something, but actual EXPERIENCE is where most of the learning occurs. You're going to fail and make an ass out of yourself when firs…

You sound like me at that age, man. I'm often described as an attractive, intelligent guy, but I struggled in high school as well. I did everything right (played 3 sports, salutatorian, dressed well) but I didn't lose my V-Card until the summer after I graduated. High school is rough - especially when you're different from your peers. My biggest advice would be to keep at it no matter what, and recognize that not every failure has to do with you. Exactly. We read the book to get better with women, so a lack of success in that department does feel like a failure. But personally, putting in the work these past few months (which Models inspired me to do) has actually made me a more interesting person - which in turn makes me more attractive to women. The next big hurdle is to start making myself more vulnerable and to try and procure more dates and relationships. While I would like to have had more success, sometimes it's best to sharpen th…

Great job, man. To me, your post kinda highlights the importance of serendipity, i.e. how making random, pro-social choices can lead to unexpectedly good outcomes. In your case, going out when you didn't feel like it led to you losing your v-card. You could have easily said "I'm tired, I'm going home" and went to bed early that night. There's a lot of truth in the red pill mentality that society would be better off embracing. That said, it's hard for people to stand behind a community that openly supports ideas like "you can never trust a woman." Really? We can't trust half the fucking population? It looks like she just lost interest. It's probably nothing you did.. She may have a boyfriend or something. Your best bet is to next her IMO, trying to reestablish interest through text is a steep hill to climb.

I get what you're saying.. but the upvote helps in that regard. Good content typically appears on the front page of each user's profile.. it won't necessarily be every post in the sub. IMO, you're not gonna get 20 quality posts a day no matter how you go about it (were there really MORE in-depth posts three years ago, or was there just a higher ratio?). If I want some good reading material I normally just sort the top posts for the week.

When would anyone at the party possibly read this?

I'm in a similar boat. I was a transfer last year and didn't really make an effort socially. Now I have virtually no friends here lol. But I don't sweat it, I like being a lone wolf most of the time. I like Tinder. If I want to meet chicks from my school, I can usually match with them and ask them to grab a meal sometime or something. I'm a good-looking dude so that also helps.

That's actually the motto.

I also smoke every day and have only tried edibles once. They took about an hour to kick in, but after a slow come up I ended up puking in my sink and laying on the bathroom floor struggling to breathe. Although I'm pretty sure I took too much, these were from a dispensary so they were completely legit. It sounds like the chick just gave you a potent edible. Some people would view it as a nice gesture, although it was rude not to tell you what it was.

It's always been easy to tell for me. The interested ones are the ones you catch making eye contact from across the room/street, etc. Usually they smile when they look away, or they may look slightly embarrassed. It's kind of hard to put in words.. but you'll know when you know.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
