I agree with the post. People often use "conditions" as an excuse, but it only accounts for a rather small amount of weight gain. You don't need money for a gym membership. You don't need workout clothes and weights. You can do sets during commercial breaks and intros/outros while watching TV. There are sites like darebee.com. There are free workout videos on youtube. You can borrow DVDs from the library. You enjoy eating? Most people do. Just eat smaller portions. Learn to count your calories. …

It is amazing and I wish more places had them! Both moms and dads love how much easier it makes the day for both them and the kiddos.

:) Happy to hear it. You might check the r/workingmoms. It's not all that active, but you might get some more ideas of what it's like there. My best advice is to have a clear vision of the kind of life you want for your family. If you can't SAHM think about what it is you would do with your child if you were and focus on the individual items you can fulfill while you are with them. We can't make it to storytime on weekdays at the library, for example, so I borrow books and find activities to go …

While you may have meant it tongue-in-cheek, there are many articles and blogs out there of women who record their lamenting over the fact that they once believed they could "Have it all". I think a lot of us feel like we need to clear that up in our posts before making further comment because of it.

No. I've never understood this concept of "having it all". There is a finite amount of time and it has to be divided up. That said, I have a good balance in my life. Both my husband and I work. I work full-time in IT. Since my toddler daughter goes to on-campus daycare, I visit during my breaks and have limited additional time away from her. Her daycare has an amazing learning program with a schedule sent to us each month so we can complement what she is learning at home. We have one scheduled c…

Yes, we married in our mid-twenties, while he was between jobs because of an injury. He had been working since his teens, though, so, as many have pointed out, he had already established himself as a hard worker.

I grew up in an enlisted family of 6. Money was tight, but we never went hungry. And they always found awesome things to do that only cost gas. We moved a lot. It was a fun life where I got to experience a lot of things, but having no physical roots was exhausting as a kid. I only attended one school for more than 2 years. I wanted stability and certainty for my own future and for any children I may have. So I got my degree in IT, did a small business gig to get my "experience", and I now get a …

That's exactly it. All those little details cannot be controlled and you only wear yourself out trying to do so. Thing is, you don't really realizs what's making you feel that way until somebody mentions it.

Aside from the break my husband took due to an injury, we've worked opposite shifts and different days off for the majority of our 10 years living together. Him swing and me days due to the nature of our jobs. When we had days off together we spent more time at home and working out together. With opposite shifts we do a lot more "date" type activities (archery, bowling, restaurants, movies) to maximize our short time together.

I read it before I knew about TRP and RPW, but our lifestyle was already very much like what is in that book. I didn't find that book against "feminism" or "female empowerment" at all. In fact, "surrendering" actually provides more opportunities for empowerment because you're not so busy trying to control every little thing and you can focus on bigger things.

I've done long distance relationship before and I hated it. This is the part I zero in on. You clearly won't be happy doing this.

I took Tae Kwan Do in my younger years, though it was more mixed martial art because my sensei had a black belt in several of them.

This is exactly what I say when people in my social circle start with this circle jerk. Specifically because I actually am both educated and actually work in a STEM field.

We changed to a joint account as soon as we got married. Communication is all we need. If we're getting low, he or I will tell the other not to spend money until date and we're good. It tends to work best for those who have shared goals and hobbies. Those who have more individual hobbies or interests do better with separate accounts. ETA: When we were living together we kept separate accounts (no joint) and paid our share of the bills according to income. It worked fine for us then, too. So it j…

I don't. I don't like wearing it and my husband doesn't like the smell. I do occasionally wear it for fancy dates just for looks. I have a basic natural palette I bought from Clinique after a demo that includes: foundation, blush, bronzer, lip stick, eye shadow, and mascara.
