Unless he was trying to get her jealous or some nonsense. Some men who always criticize their exes, also criticize their partners too. It’s pretty transparent once you recognize it and is messed up.

I agree and would add that he’ll try to get you into his rotation. He doesn’t respect you as a colleague or friend if he views women this way.

I love the fact that the mom got a meaningful tattoo- that was so sweet! But I am bothered that the son can’t appreciate it and be proud that his apparently very talented gf did it?

I lost a friend because she went to therapy and found her now husband- total correlation and not causation. Instead of saying like, yeah it’s hard, be patient, she told me I needed therapy and I wasn’t invited to her wedding. Blocked and deleted her also. Such a bummer.

Additionally, he’s helping the kids prepare something special for their mother, who wouldn’t have been able to do so without his help. Most children don’t have resources to celebrate the holidays for their single parent on their own, such as money or going to the store to shop for the gift or event, and this father realizes that and enables the children to do something special for their mother.

Well, hopefully she learned her lesson! Next time she won’t tell him she earned $100k and will stash it in a secret bank account! (Joking, not joking- seriously, hopefully she stashes it, lol.)

I see how dating someone you know might seem like a decent idea, but if he’s known you for five years and never had an interest in you, I don’t see why he would be interested all of a sudden now. I saw that as a bad sign from the get-go. “If he wanted to, he would have.”

Lol I got a message from some guy that bailed after months of dating me, and I knew I couldn’t delete the message without going into the app, which would mark it as read, so I deleted the whole app. He tried to text me again using another platform and started the message “I don’t think you saw my message on xxx...” lol Yeah I did, I just didn’t care.

Prostitutes have boundaries and are a mutual agreement. These men don’t like people with boundaries and don’t like being held accountable.

I hate how she slapped him after he “grabbed her face” (as stated in the police body cam footage). Domestic violence altercations are usually the woman defending herself. Also, they state that abusers usually escalate in a vehicle because they know there is no way to remove oneself from the situation. It’s sad but no surprise that the cops handled it improperly.

They also like to rank women in order to pit women against each other for their (male) attention. It works on some women, as they feel bad because they’re not as “hot” as their sister/friend/coworker or makes them feel good since they’ve been told they’re “hotter” than their sister/fiend/coworker. It’s manipulative and it’s often a PUA/Red pill technique. It’s also the premise of quite a few subreddits that I like to report for doxxing and “involuntary porn”.

This. Especially if they are into the hookup culture after a failed marriage. It’s the biggest red flag that’s often overlooked. They’ll say they “might marry someday” and you better make sure that’s not you!

Single men I know of don’t cook, don’t clean properly, and don’t see a need to budget or save their money, so no, many men do not come into a relationship with these skills.

She’s at work. She doesn’t have to talk to him. She did not give any details about what he has done to make her uncomfortable. You’re reading more into this than she is even describing. I gave solid advice about what to do if her manager is not intervening. If he is a narcissist, it’s called the “grey rock method”. She should start to use it.

Without details, it doesn’t sound like an issue I’d be bringing to my manager. The issue I see is that he’s bored and may not have a lot of work to do, so is chit-chatting with you instead? I agree that you should both be working and not socializing at work- it could look poorly on you. If you have to train him, keep it professional and work-related only. Make a schedule and stick with it. After training, wrap it up and excuse yourself back to work. Keep conversation to work and training, and if…

I always respond with “well, do you know of any good single men that you could set me up with?” They usually pause and realize that, no, they do not, and never ask again.

I want to know the story behind the “no take-out”. Was it he who was against it so that he could keep poisoning his wife? Sad that this just ends in divorce and not his sociopathic-ass getting jail time.

I just have to vent. I filed a complaint at work on behalf of several coworkers for preferential treatment and hostile work environment. I’m leaving to a new job, so I didn’t fear retaliation, or at least not for long. The supervisor in question must have told the woman that was receiving the special treatment about it, as well as their mutual male colleague, and started a smear campaign against me. She told everyone at the office that I was accusing her of sleeping with the boss. Um, hello? Eve…

Right. Why is he single, then? Keep vetting. I passed on dating a guy like this, all good appearance-wise. Just talking and flirting with them will be taken as you finding them attractive. I‘ve worked with/currently work with women who talk and flirt with every man and they all act like a fool because she is giving him attention. They get whatever they want from the male bosses despite blatant favoritism and receive gifts from male colleagues. Meanwhile, I’m the “intimidating” one who won’t smile, wave, or flirt, yet I know I’m at least respected for my work. Sad thing is, these women know what they’…

I agree, but also wonder if the “wait to get married” narrative everyone is pushing is also being misinterpreted as “do what you want until you feel like until then” ie, casual, which is interpreted as hooking up. The problem is, while people waste their time and energy in their youth living like this, they hit 30 and realize 1) they can’t sustain this, or realize they did waste their time 2) people who are stable and able to maintain a relationship have one and now they want one but can’t have …

One argument against the gender wage gap is that most places pay the men and women the same pay rates for the same position. However, being a female in a male-oriented workplace, my experience in the gender wage gap has been that I don’t see them promoting the women, hence subduing their pay that way, by promoting a male, regardless of qualifications, over the qualified female. That is one way we get the gender wage gap, that no one likes to talk about.

Should also mention this from the Planned Parenthood website about unprotected oral as well (just don’t do unprotected , period, and yes, not as serious as HIV): “If you were to put everyone with gonorrhea into one giant room, you would be able to find gonococci in the throats of about: 3 to 7 percent of heterosexual men 10 to 20 percent of heterosexual women 10 to 25 percent of men who have sex with men (MSM) As shown by the above numbers, people who perform fellatio (oral contact with a penis)…

Many men in relationships use OLD, though, so I always see not giving out his phone number as a red flag. You can also tell by texting patterns if he’s taken, like only texting during business hours, for example. There’s also no reason for Snapchat- he wants those messages to disappear for the very same reason, to not have you in his phone, which I find highly telling of his motives with you.

Men, even ones who claim they do not want children, still want to opportunity to sire a child. Birth control and abortion rights is for a woman to choose whether or not to have that opportunity to carry, birth, and raise that possible child. Men do not want birth control, and women do.

My male supervisor got irritated with me because I kept talking to a certain coworker after I notified him that I thought the coworker was stalking me. Fast forward a few months when a male was harassing me at a gas station, whom I told to fuck off, only to have him assault me by punching my head a few times. When relaying the story to my supervisor, I made damn sure to throw in why a female wouldn’t tell a male coworker who was stalking her to “fuck off” like he had suggested.

I can’t remember the exact quote, but it’s something like, men see a world where equal treatment means excluding, and they are afraid they’ll get the same treatment they have been giving. They know what it’s like to exclude minorities, and worry that they’ll get the same treatment under equal rights.

Totally agree, especially if the man has kids of his own. People need to get married for legal reasons if they are in a long-term relationship. Otherwise, you do not get to see each other in the hospital, decide when/where they are buried, and then get to fight for their inheritance, especially if everything was not spelled out in a will, with property in question.

I was just reading an article about this: ‘Four Psychological Traits of Sexual Harassers’ by Ellen Hendriksen, Ph.D. While she is specifically talking about sexual harassment at work, it applies to the way these men behave towards women in general, outside of work too, which one could describe as ‘predatory’.

Just wanted to say, that even if you two don’t meet up again, you can still nod or wave and be friendly at the gym- it doesn’t have to be anything awkward. If anything, not acknowledging her at the gym after your date may make you appear disingenuous, and maybe will feed into her thinking you didn’t like her (and here you are thinking she didn’t like you, ya know?).

Thank you for this. I am part of several parental alienation subs for this very reason. Most mothers who lose custody to these narcissistic men go through so much shame, because in our society, if a mother loses custody there’s always the assumption that she is an unfit mother. The new SO and family will always side with the lies they are told, and the court should honestly care less, as long as they keep coming back to play their sick game.

This. This actually happened to me twice this year, with some guys that expected me to beg and plead and ask “what happened/what is wrong?”. It’s straight out of the PUA/Red Pill handbook, and is a sign of manipulative and abusive behavior. Men get a power trip out of seeing you distraught, and glee in knowing you’ll crawl back to him and he doesn’t have to do a thing. That’s why FDS is important: you delete and block, keeping your dignity and mental health. You don’t let someone manipulate you …

But, it’s a bit pathetic that they always post pics of them with a beer and cigar on Sunday, or complain about hangovers at work the next day. Anyhow, I wonder why I can’t find a guy to date, and realize they’re all acting like 20-year-old frat boys in college at almost 40...

I think that the problem is that the men expect it. They think they can treat a female poorly just because they are dtf. Being straightforward and being a disgusting pig are two different things.

I mean, you do you, no judging here. But when a man I’m dating says that, it’s a big “nope” for me. He can go waste someone else’s time.

Every time I hear someone say they love being single because that allows them to do whatever they want, I cringe, because that means they either are selfish and can not compromise, or have had such horrible relationships that they do not understand that a relationship does not mean an end to freedom. Either way, I lose interest in dating them.

They know what they want at that age- casual sex- but they assume that by stating that outright, they will be rejected. However, by being vague, there’s a chance you’ll have sex with them. These are the men that dump you when you start getting too serious (god forbid you actually like them, right?) and then move on to the next.

I recommend Melanie Tonia Evans. Also, if you think every one you meet is a narcissist, it’s ok, 1 in 10 people are suspected of having some kind of personality disorder. When I started dating after my narc/sociopath bf (I’ll never know which he was) I found red flags everywhere, yet my girlfriends were telling me I was too picky, and to give these guys another chance. Hell no! Don’t ever doubt yourself! It’s ok to go through hundreds of profiles, to get to one you actually think is ok. Point is…

These are classics, and have many of them myself. If one likes to read, chances are one has them in their shelf. I also love Chuck Palahniuk; I lived in Portland and met him actually a few times. The argument that a woman isn’t used for sex because she consented pisses me off; unlike dinner, where both parties probably enjoyed their food, it’s not a given that both parties enjoyed the sex.

I grew up with really good male role models, and didn’t know how rare good men are. I always blamed myself for not being able to find one. I guess I wasn’t old when I realized it, because I’ve always had high standards, but was definitely older when I finally gave myself a break for it.

I’m in a dating sub that is full of posts of people saying they live being single and blah blah and I’m like, then why are you dating? Their answers are always that they want sex and company. It’s bullshit. Sex and company can be a relationship, but they just don’t want to commit. They waste people’s time and just see sex as a good time. Which is fine if both parties are on board, but that’s rarely ever the case, in my experience. That’s when it’s leading someone on and that’s what is ingenious.

Here is my -long- opinion, from my own and my friends’ experiences: No relationship is 50/50, and people with this mentality seem to be selfish and expect fairness out of a situation that will never be “fair”. Women bear the brunt of housekeeping, child rearing, birth control, and then also work full-time, often at lesser salaries than men. This work can never be fair or equal, and when a man expects you to do all this plus whatever else you agree to, I doubt you’re giving 50%; probably way more…

Using biology for any excuse irks me, as I studied this stuff in college. Modern men with big bellies don’t have hormones to blame- they eat like shit and don’t exercise. We women that have the occasional bloating due to our hormonal cycle, have a day or two of hormones to blame, and dint even try to justify our behaviors and bodies due to it. Same with “male brain” and “female brain” junk science, that come up with excuses why men don’t multi-task and other bullshit.

So, this book is basically stating that someone will take from you as much as you are willing to give; ultimately the tree gave its life for someone who didn’t even appreciate it. It most definitely is a cautionary tale and does not preach that this is a good thing. If anything, it illustrates the sad reality that human nature is to take, with no thought to the person giving. I had been messaging a guy in an app for a while, and he was coming back into town from business, so we were to met up that weekend. He seemed pretty cool, so I was excited. Somewhere while making plans to meet, he asked something like, “do you want to hear what I would like?” which just rang funny to me. Some people take it as a personal blow or win to their ego, and also have anxious attachment styles, where the absence of communication makes them uncomfortable, and so they start blowing up the phone, or whatever. Anyhow, this technique isn’t for healthy relationships, and when a man says he has lots of “crazy exes” I usually suspect he does this kind of thing, and is a red flag for me. It’s definitely an ego boost for them, especially if they get to reject you. You’ll become one of their “crazy” exes who was clingy and wanted more, when they were stringing you along the whole time. If you let him take the lead from the beginning, I find it’s easier to anticipate if he’s intending on paying or not. For example, if it’s a coffee house or somewhere where you pay up-front, I let him place his order first. If he just pays for his, then I make my order and pay for mine as well. However, he usually will place his order and then turn to me and to ask what I would like, and pays for us both. He just wants her to eat as much as him so he doesn’t feel bad. I know very few men that actually diet and exercise, but many women who do. If he gets her to eat as much as he does, then he won’t feel so insecure, because he knows she can find another man ASAP if she looks hot, and he won’t.

I’ve found that people just assume you’ll talk about yourself, or share whatever you’d like to; it’s just a different mentality. This tit-for-tat/50% mentality in relationships bothers me. Babysitters and daycare centers aren’t the same. Daycare centers charge an hourly rate. Babysitters also usually charge and hourly rate. This is because by law, only so many children, by age group, can be watched by one adult.

Why haven’t you been in a committed relationship before, just curious? You might want to read up on attachment theory and attachment styles. If you’re an avoidant, it could just be you. If not, it could be something you’re picking up from him. Either way, you can always change your mind if it doesn’t work out. Look up narcissist and sociopath behaviors, and the gray rock method. You have to be consistent with your boundaries and methods. For example, I had everything saved in writing so I could go back to the exact date an instruction was given to me, so my boss couldn’t say that she said otherwise. Also, find another job, and get a reference independent of you and your coworker. Sorry, but they will smear your name and reputation no matter how stellar it is.

There’s also a badly interpreted red pill tactic where they invest and then pull away. If the woman chases after him, he invests in another and does the same thing. If she doesn’t chase after him he “nexts” her and moves onto another. So basically, never chase after a guy and always mirror their level of investment.

I swear we are all dating the same exact man, or that they all do this crap! (J/k) It’s hard for me to block them, but you did it, and now I know that I have to as well.

Well, this is way different than first described. This is when you just have to trust your gut and decide what’s best for you.

Do you even like this woman? Why didn’t you reach out to her and ask how she was, when you noticed that she didn’t text you? Remember that a relationship isn’t 50/50, and sometimes you have to bridge the gap to get to that 100%. The fact that you thought about leaving her first rather than putting in a bit more effort into your relationship is very concerning. Try reaching out to her and brighten her day, like she reaches out to you to brighten yours. Carrying the emotional burden of a relations…

Men like this don’t understand that “everyone” wanting to use your body for sex is not a compliment, or a good thing.

No, still lonely, but at least I know I’m not desperate.

I’m constantly surprised by this- it’s not hard to go to the gym, and you don’t have to be a “jock”. If any man were to even hit the gym 3 times a week, his physique would be above average.

Facts! My ex is still bitter that I left him, after he admitted he didn’t love me anymore. I guess he didn’t expect me to leave?

I think the emotional support from your partner should be there, though. They should be the first person you tell good or bad news to, and turn to for comfort. Yes, good friends are important, but if your partner has no emotional support to offer, I wouldn’t want to be in that relationship. I’ve had enough emotionally unavailable people in my life that it’s just not worth the effort if he’s only going to use me for sex and then tell me to go to my friends for my problems. I personally think this…

I don’t see the problem here. It looks like they are both lazy lovers, and end up mutually satisfied?

This may or not apply to you, but lately I’ve been doing a lot of reading, and some things I’ve come across that have helped me are: Emotional wounds from feeling “unloveable” or “not good enough” are being uncovered right now. Right now, the internal dialogue is that you aren’t enough because it didn’t work with this man, not because this relationship isn’t the right one. A breakup or rejection is a blow to the ego. Again, it’s not because this relationship wasn’t right for you both. I’m not sa…

I would take that to mean “don’t expect anything from me”. He’s conditioning you from the get-go in what to expect from him, which seems minimal. Not materialistic=never have to buy you anything Humble= doormat Fun to be around= does what he wants I’d be slightly suspicious as well.

Why not? If you answer a question and that is your response, and now you are waiting for them to send another text, isn’t that a bit silly? Why can’t you send another text?
/r/seduction20/04/20 08:52 PM

Yes, there’s definitely a sense that someone is interested over text. If I’m busy and can’t give long responses, I’ll say so. I never want a guy to ever wonder where I stand with him.

No, people with good boundaries know when to walk away. People with good self-esteem know that there’s another match out there for them.

I tell my male coworkers that want advice, that if he’s not talking to her, some other guy is, because, if you find her attractive and fun, so do other men. If you just sit back and wait, she probably will think that you’re just not interested anymore. They admit that they hadn’t thought about it that way.
/r/seduction20/04/20 12:27 PM

Agreed, but some don’t understand that nuance. Also, I’ve heard from men that they expect exactly 50/50, in that “I texted her last, now it’s her turn” and wonder why they never hear from them again.
/r/seduction20/04/20 08:12 AM

Yes, this. Too many men (I am a female, so can’t speak to females) ghost on me and I have to just assume he’s not interested. I would never assume he’s just waiting for me to contact him after a few days of silence.

I really think all the ones I have dated have been, seriously. I’ve done a lot of research on NPD and sociopathy, and too many fit the description to the point that there is no doubt they were.

I know- I’m stating that it can be inherently degrading. Edited to add: if the man is a porn-sick man who only uses you for a BJ, it can be. If it’s a mutually satisfactory relationship, it won’t be.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/04/20 01:00 AM

In a normal relationship, of course, that goes without saying. This posting doesn’t sound like a normal relationship, though.

I feel most men want a BJ though, and don’t reciprocate. That is a bit degrading. There is no physical pleasure in it for the female. I had a guy only want BJs and yeah, that’s not fun in a relationship - it makes you feel like a tool for his pleasure only.

I scare away all men EXCEPT for the narcissists, I have no idea why they can see through my cold demeanor to my squishy soul. It’s nice to know I have good values, as everyone thinks that they prey on the weak; but I think this illustrates they go for those who have what they are lacking. Silver lining, I suppose.

I had narcissistic parents that told me I was too picky and stubborn, and that no one would ever love me. I totally agree that this has shaped my acceptance of lvm and not speaking up in relationships.

They do it on purpose. I have learned so much due to narcissistic abuse- the grey rock method works wonders. Never give any reaction, and it’s empowering. They want to hear that you’re hurt, or wanting some kind of emotional response. A lot of men (can’t speak to women) call their exes “crazy” and “emotional” because they are trying exactly for that kind of response. It’s abuse and we aren’t talking about it! Instead we give advise that we need to talk about it- it’s giving all your cards away!

I guess I have an informal question: Is there any way to express to a lvm man what you need? If he steps up and delivers, does that change anything?

This reminds me of a saying that my coworker taught me the other day, which I love: “never eat the soup the temperature it is served to you”.

I get that narcissistic people talk poorly of their SOs, but I don’t know- sometimes your friends can pick up on things you can’t see because of being love blind. I hated my sister’s husband, and my family didn’t like my brother’s first wife, because they didn’t treat them well.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/04/20 08:18 AM

I’m turning 40’and dreading it. I feel like such a failure, due to no SO, but have accomplished so much in my life already. I feel like the advice to men is “work on yourself and you’ll find somebody” but for us women, working on ourselves actually scares men off?

Multiple? No. One or two really good friends? Yes. Many narcissist men I know keep “friends” around for their own ego. However, my best friend is a male, and he and I would never date. We keep each other very transparent in each other’s lives, meaning, his gf and I have met, we never hang out unless in public, etc.

I needed this today. I just found this sub, and it’s been a great find. Just had a coworker who I thought liked me (sat by me at breaks, texted me, hung out for a few weeks) ask to be FWB. It made me so sad that he thought I was good enough to talk to for hours, hang out with, attractive enough, yet wouldn’t even date me. Just wanted sex. It hurt, not going to lie.
