Great point. This has been my argument for years as to why men should have an "opt out" option during her pregnancy. Have a law where she has to make the father aware of her pregnancy before birth (or he can opt out afterwards if she didn't tell him) and if he says so he can say he doesn't want to be financially involved and doesn't want to be the father.
