I think the pua movement is one of those things that is pretty fucked up, but that has more than a few kernels of truth to it. There's lessons in there like "Work to be the best person you can be" and "just keep talking to people, you'll find someone". Unfortunately it's hidden behind terms like "inner game" and comments like "don't worry bro, it's just a numbers game".

Actually it's much more than that. Those Sherlock deductions are a very very small part of it. It's more like saying things that apply to everyone (yet feel very intimate and personal) and asking questions that don't look like questions.
