Agreed. Would like to see how this kind of logic would hold up else where though, laws where someone is wrongfully accused and faces serious charges. Like a prosecutor getting life in prison for wrongful murder conviction etc

No, its arbitrary. Taking 6 Panadols and calling a paramedic saying "Ive taken 6 pills, and tried/ing to kill myself" they're obligated to come, and they're obligated to admit you, and that is considered not only on your medical record, but statistically in general as attempted suicide.
