So it'd be a contradiction to be confident if you know what you're doing goes against the norm? In the sense that you blindly do something. That wouldn't be confidence ye?

What do we mean by confidence? As far as I understand being confident is accepting positive and negative ramifications for actions which you deem valid enough to risk the negatives. Please tell me I'm wrong, I don't know how that definition of confidence fits with your post.

Essentially what I've understood: "But yesterday I was worth 'X'. I'll always be worth 'X'. Give me anything less than that and I'll scream. Oh boy, will all these betas run to help me. You'll be sorry." When I go out and buy a car and I drive it off the lot, I understand it depreciates in value. It stands to reason that, with time, everything loses value.

Normal "this hit the nail on the head" banter. Being honest with myself and everybody on here: I came here after a break up. I've internalized a lot of the mantras talked about here. So to all of the philosophers here; thank you.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
