This. It's a gamble, like all investments. Delayed gratification really starts to make sense when you've been in the market for longer than a couple of years. I remember when I just wanted to get rich quick too. I think the crypto market attracts a lot of noobs.

Any ideas to work on confidence issues? This is incredibly difficult to answer. A lot of what I have to work with regarding my co-worker is reminding her that it's up to her to be vocal to our manager regarding the work she's doing, that she needs to make a case for herself, and that she needs to start asking for a raise/promotion. I think what the other user stated regarding meritocracy is true, and good for you for focusing on this aspect of your job. Many people will respect this - I just hop…

I've worked with a few women in IT as a developer. Most are incompetent. Lots of men are too, but my views here are generally seen as sexist - I don't care. I'm working with a woman now who is definitely a competent developer and does not bring BS politics into work. She suffers from a lack of confidence. It's strange to me - the overconfident women seem to perform worse at their job, claim they are the victim, get paid more, and do far less work. Some competent women do just fine, but it's obvi…

There're certain types of "privileges" that a certain political party insists exists. I don't really agree with them. I do, however, believe there is privilege associated with being attractive.

"Pro equality". I'm a software engineer that has worked with several women. It is the least physically demanding job possible. 90% (at least) of the women I've worked with are incredibly sub-par. They bring their gender/race politics into the office and rarely do any of the harder, less fun work. They constantly need help to finish a project, and it's usually a man that needs to finish the job right. They will get promotions and raises over men, and are difficult to fire for needing improvement …

I think you'd be surprised how much crossover there is with these two issues. Cops have been shown to not protect certain people on the right in some cities which makes the right hate them (check out some videos from the million MAGA march). Some on the left are really starting to dislike/hate all the lockdowns and pointless wearing of masks, admitting they are authoritarian (see /r/LockdownSkepticism).

What? Farmers get one vote, the same as everyone else. I assume you're talking about how in some states people's votes are "augmented" (for lack of a better term) due to population density. There's plenty of states that farmers live in where there are many populous cities that vote blue (see: the south, Illinois).

The point is to define that a fetus is it's own unique human entity, separate and different from the other examples.
/r/PussyPassDenied26/03/20 01:08 PM
1

If they have no chance at living a normal life again then this makes sense. Taking someone off life support due to these reasons is analagous to ending the life of a fetus if it is not viable. People avoid taking someone off life support if there are other options, which is how we should treat abortion. You are literally retarded and should be next on the list. I am blinded by your liberalism, progressiveness, and open mindedness! Imagine someone disagreeing with your viewpoint and suggesting th…

You're missing key distinctions in the examples you brought up. Sperm cell - 23 chromosomes Egg - 23 chromosomes Tumor (weird to compare to a fetus but ok) - chromosomes identical to it's "host" Healthy fetus - 46 chromosomes that are unique to itself

You can disagree with science all you want but it doesn't make you right. You're dismissing my opinions with blanket statements to give yourself the win in this conversation. While financials is definitely an issue when it comes to pulling the plug on someone in a coma, the topic has its own moral and ethical issues in philosophy. These are not easy decisions that people have to make (ending the life of someone in a coma), and certainly most people would only do this given no other option. Since…

if it is deemed as the best decision for them and their family' health And this is a key point - that isn't what's happening with abortion in the US. Women are getting hundreds of thousands of abortions each year because of inconvenience, not lack of mental ability in a fetus. The statistics on this can be easily googled, I suggest you look into it. Regarding whether a fetus is alive or not is the crux of this conversation - you say it isn't, I say it is.
/r/PussyPassDenied26/03/20 12:05 PM
2

Rape and threat to the life of the mother are both instances where I believe abortions should be allowed, but thanks for your judgment. Google when a baby develops a functional nervous system, look up when their brain starts functioning. The problem with these arguments is that we can logically apply them to full grown adults as well. What about adults in a coma that have no cortical function? Should it now be legal for me to find someone in a coma and dismember them limb by limb?
/r/PussyPassDenied26/03/20 11:49 AM
4

So why wouldn't you support abortion under special circumstance like a rape case? You know many pro-lifers are willing to make this exception, among others, right? Don't bring up fringe cases to support your baby murdering ritual.

I appreciate your input. I talked to her about it, ultimately we were able to have a conversation around the root of her opinions and I stated mine very clearly as well. What I've learned from my conversations with her and my feedback here is that suppression of emotions is not in any way healthy. The formula is rather simple, though, it seems: women do not participate in society to the same degree as men. When they do not work as many hours as men, it is blamed on discrimination. Instead of requiring the same effort and ensuring the system is fair women need to be pushed to the front, not based on merit, but based on gender. In fields where men are underrepresented, the same logic does not seem to be applied. I have to agree. I work in tech - most women work less hours. Almost all women …
